All modern cars (minus the 100K+ crowd) are so boring and ugly. And huge. I saw someone driving one of the new Hyundai Santa Cruzs yesterday, and got excited because it was 5.26% different from everything else on the road.
There is no reason why these bland Demolition Man Mobiles everywhere cost so much money. (Que supply and demand guy)

Oh wow, hang onto that one. I miss my 87, but it was just the hatch. Always loved the notchbacks the most. Just so subtly cool.

Oh she long gone sadly.
Also, when the hell did Calgary drivers get so damn impotent. Like, who are these people who have nothing better to do than waste time going 5-10 below the limit for no reason.

Everything got significantly worse through the pandemic and never got better. Slow drivers, aloof drivers, and entitled drivers have all increased substantially from my pov.
Sometimes driving in Calgary feels like driving in the middle of a tourist area.

Their brains have developed speed limiters. They just simply can’t handle processing 50km/hr anymore. Getting dressed is probably an hour long activity now for these people.

Ahh yeah. We are. It's incredibly maddening. It's great you're not in a rush, but the rest of us are. Go five to 10 percent over, please. (minimum)

I’ll sometimes drive 0-5 under the limit. You could leave a few minutes earlier.

Why are you going under the speed limit? That's straight out of The Struggler's Playbook.

Accident free since most people here were alive. I’m none of the above.

If you're not driving +10 over the limit on the Deerfoot they want to run you off the road. Just a symptom on Calgary drivers in a hurry to get somewhere fast.

That’s because everyone around you are better drivers and avoid colliding with you.
You’re definitely one of the four. It might be worse not knowing which one.

I'll just take people using their ####ing gas pedals on GIANT ON RAMPS to get up to highway speeds as a massive victory at this point. There's no reason we should be going 70 at the merge point ####face.

Talk about being arrogant and condescending
I would also argue that hardly anyone does the speed limit in Calgary. Most are doing at least +5 over the limit. Given the number of accidents each year, I would suggest they are not the best drivers

There’s not much worse than driving along and someone “merges” ahead of you going slower. What in the world are you thinking?
One thing worse, are the people who drive to the end of the merge lane and stop. Great job. You’ll never get up to speed now!

Why? Seriously? If conditions are good and the posted limit is suitable for giant ass trucks, motor homes, civics and Ferraris, what the hell inspires someone to waste time?
Residential, sure. I go slow and what I feel is safe, I don’t give a #### about the limit. But glenmore, deerfoot, Blackfoot, Stoney, John Laurie? Why?
It has nothing to do with what time I leave. I don’t want to waste my time, and I seriously don’t get people who have no issue doing so. And please, if you’re going to go slow, get the #### behind the next slowest vehicle. Do not for the love of god pace the other fool clogging both lanes doing 60 in a 70.

Ah lighten up. Are they even still letting you drive?
Everyone speeding is even more of a reason why going 5+ under is a terrible idea. Go with the flow of traffic, keep the furthest-left lane clear for anyone going faster than you, and enter/exit at speed. These are simple things completely lost on people.
There are sections and times of day on Deerfoot and Crowchild specifically where the average flow of traffic is 20-30km/hr higher than the speed limit. That’s not “hey look at that speed demon! must be in a rush!” that’s literally everyone going that speed. If you’re going 5-10 under, you’re going 25-40km slower than everyone else, and that makes you a complete hazard.
Obviously this only applies to good road conditions. But at the end of the day, if you want to sight-see, buy a ticket and ride a tour bus. Don’t take your Golf Cart onto Deerfoot.

I was referring to residential areas and main drags, not freeways like the Deerfoot.
