I believe it's Hartley's system. It might work with skilled, experienced guys like TJ Brodie and Mark Giordano and Mikael Backlund, but it seems ripe for exposing goaltenders without guys of that two-way calibre. Then you get down and are chasing the rest of the game. No individual has their risk mitigated by a strong system.

Which is good for development, IMO. More mistakes with thin margins for error, the more the players work to perfect their craft.

What about Ortio?

Garbage bag day and exit interviews are likely tomorrow; Ortio's interview is probably an important one and why he's not sent down?

Ortio and Grant require waivers to go down. And Nakladal isn't eligible for AHL playoff play, so he's not going down either.

Charlotte lost their game today, so the Heat are still hanging on by a thread.

Charlotte has 2 games remaining and must lose both of them in regulation for the Heat to have a chance. They play Lake Erie in Cleveland on Thursday and Friday.

The Heat play San Diego today, Bakersfield on Tuesday, and end the season with a home-and-home against San Jose on Saturday and Sunday. If the Heat win all four games (the final two in regulation), they are guaranteed to finish fourth in the Pacific, but still require Charlotte to lose out in order to make the playoffs.

Jankowski hit the crossbar too and it looked like it went in. No goal though in the end

BRETT POLLOCK!!! Another first pro goal, this time Pollock taps it home and we’re tied 3-3! All the first tonight!!!

I love that we seem to be replenishing the prospect pool constantly.

Their playoff hopes come down to an OT/SO win. Go Heat!

Looks like a relatively good-sized crowd. And they got their entertainment, that's for sure.

Haha @4:25. The PBP is the loudest fan in the building.
