Just reading in between the lines on Friedman's comments about Glencross but it sounds like the Flames are hoping Glencross will expand his list further or waive for a team not on his list.

Treliving needs to take as much time as he needs to get the value he wants.

You'd think that if one of the leaders on the team is basically going to be traded any day and is vocally unhappy with his role, it would actually be something the guys are thinking about.

The Wild, Ducks, and Rangers are some very good teams. I don't think Glencross is the reason for the losses.

No I completely disagree.
Glencross is wearing an A.
We're a team chalked full of young kids.
We're fighting for a playoff spot.
And let's face it Glencross is not Iginla and won't command a huge return.
Get it done now we're just lollygagging and every point counts. I can't believe we're expecting this guy to compete having told him he's out. Bush league tbh.

Every team in the NHL goes through this at trade deadline day. The flames are not trading the face of the franchise or a 1st pairing d-man. They are trading a 3rd line winger that if played correctly could bring back a 2nd on a rebuilding team.

My gut tells me he'll still be a Flame next week. I don't see us getting a return on him that would make anyone happy. IMHO, he's been too inconsistent and injury-prone over the past few seasons. It may be better for him to stay and be motivated to earn a contract like Cammy did last year while actually helping the team.

I agree he needs to get it right but let's back up a bit. This is not a trade that will define his legacy. He's not trading a franchise player - he's trading a pending UFA and will at best net a 2nd round or b level prospect. Not a legacy defining type of swap.

Welp, if Patrick Kane is now injured, there might be more impetus to get a Glencross type (even if he plays the wrong side).
Thoughts?

Cripes. Now the Flames are bush league for expecting him to compete?
Glencross made just shy of $35K in the game tonight. Damn right he should still compete. Nothing bush about it.

More importantly it may open the door up for the deal to go down immediately, instead of waiting for the last possible moment for the Hawks to have enough cap space.
Glencross for Johns please.

With Ortio's injury it makes sense. But I am not sure I would want him to be a major part of a return for Glencross. Or were you thinking of a smaller deal for Raanta?

Treliving would have to be Sam Pollack reincarnate to make that trade happen.

Kane's injury should shake the market up whether it's glencross to the Hawks ir someone else. Should boost the trade values of players left as bowman is under pressure to replace Kane. Sellers will see this and hold firm on pricing which hopefully has an inflationary price on remaining players.

Oh yes, the Blackhawks are certainly going to bend over to trade for Glencross now that they need him to replace Kane...
Lets get real.
