I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
MacLeod at 9th Ave SB to 10th Ave underpass.... that's the freight rail bridge

I work near Bonneybrook and just decided forget this nonsense. The bow hasn't crested yet and all that debri coming down from the mountains/ Canmore.
People keep talking about debris coming from Canmore, but where is there anything to back that up? I cannot fathom anything of substance making its way the entire length. This is a river, not a tsunami on an open ocean, but I could be wrong.

The reserviors (Ghost and Glenmore) should stop some of the debris from the mountains, but there's still going to be a fair bit just from how wide the rivers are everywhere.
amazing how many people are ignoring the advice not to go into downtown to work.
Do they get that they will have to get back out later. Just causing more problems for police.
Totally agree. People who won't follow instructions are irritating.
I might be in the minority, but people who have to be rescued after they've refused evacuation orders should be billed for that service. I'm not talking about people who are unable to leave due to being elderly or people with physical/mental issues. I'm talking about people who willing defy the orders.

I have nothing to back that up about debris getting to Calgary, but it just seems logical that it is a possibility.
If those bridges have so little clearance already it could create even bigger flow problems.

Yeah, they just showed people being rescued who ignored the orders and stayed because "they weren't affected in 2005."
Not sure if its preemptive, or reported already, but I walked down the river between 19th St NW and Crowchild and the Bow has dropped at least a foot. There was a debris ring (like a high tide marker). I'm in West Hillhurst and still not evac'd, but the south side of Kensington Road has been I believe.

The phrase, might even be scripture, "don't think of yourself more highly than you ought" comes to mind when I'm hearing bosses tell their employees stuff like "business as usual". Really, the service or product your company provides really isn't that important today.

I emailed my department to not worry about making it into to work. The projects will still be there on Monday.
I manage by not asking employees to do what I won't myself in situations like this.
