West Ham boss Alan Pardew has hit out at Arsene Wenger for not fielding an English player in Arsenal's Champions League win against Real Madrid.
"I saw a headline saying Arsenal are flying the flag for Britain," he said.
"I kind of wondered where that British involvement actually was when I looked at their team.
"It's important that top clubs don't lose sight of the fact that it's the English Premier League and English players should be involved."

FA are looking into the legalities of the Zaha deal (sign and loan back).

Ya he plays it poorly

torn on this. I think he's a promising talent and he'd probably be the number one backup on the wings for Valencia and Young next season, but the price tag scares the hell out of me.

I think it gets done

Isn't Young basically out? he hasn't played much lately, and with Nani gone as well possibly I think he gets a lot of time
Welbeck/Rooney have been used more wide than anyone else lately
he does look great though, better than Oxlade-Chamberlain IMO

Diame to Arsenal would be good for them as well, 3.5m is ridiculously cheap for him

I don't think Young is out, especially given his performance against City. He picked up a knock against Liverpool, which is why he didn't play against Spurs. He has been better than Valencia in recent weeks, and given that Fergie likes to play two real wingers, I doubt he's on his way out. Just injury-prone unfortunately.

makes sense, I hadn't seen him lately and saw he has only started 12 games this year
I think they then bring in Zaha to replace Nani in that role, and the rest of the money he spends on a CM or two in the summer (Strootman/Bender etc.)

If you think Wayne Rooney didn't know exactly what he was doing though you are extremely naive

I am not saying he's the only one who would do it, but it's exactly what he is doing, pushed the ball ahead and looked for contact, happens in every game

It really doesn't matter, that he didn't put that extra bit of effort into falling to one foot, instead of both --- it's a penalty.

Yeah, he picked up a knock on his knee before end of half against LFC. From what I remember he finished the remaining minutes, and then was subbed at half.

I expect them to bring in one CM (Strootman, Wanyama, Bender, Fernandinho etc) and Garay for the defense.

yeah, I was surprised when he finished the first half because it looked bad in the replays. Luckily not a major injury.

Fergie and AVB were both at the Celtic game today
not much else to watch on the field besides him I would imagine

Heh, nice. Pardew sucks. The club never should have fired Hughton. He is a good manager, was popular with the team and fans, produced some great wins and stabilized the situation. Pardew was lucky that Ba and Cisse caught fire like they did last year. Sure he is responsible for them coming in but he couldnt keep Ba and Cisse has be AWFUL this season. Just brutal, he has done nothing.
I cannot believe we are such legitimate contenders to go down again. If we do and lose Krul and other promising younger players I can see us staying down this time.

In reality though, if I were Dortmund it would be Lewandowski for Dzeko + money. You always ask City to kick in money.

Yeah for Dortmund it's not a terrible move, For Lewy, I think it is.
Well, mainly because I will have a very hard time supporting anyone that plays for City :P

NBC's local team's antics lead to NBC's favourite team's manager spending days in court supporting his son.
Quote:
A group of footballers took pictures of themselves sexually assaulting a drunken 19-year-old woman, the Old Bailey heard today. The Brighton and Hove Albion players wanted to have 'a permanent record of their conquest', jurors were told.
The four players took the young woman back to their hotel room and assaulted her after celebrating victory for their club in the Sussex Senior Cup, it was alleged.
Brighton players Anton Rodgers, 19 - son of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers - Lewis Dunk, 21, and George Barker, 21, and former team-mate Steve Cook, 21, who now plays for Bournemouth, deny sexual assault......
....The families of the accused, including Liverpool boss Rodgers, were in the public gallery as the case was opened.

Which begs the question.

Worth noting that Fergie's primary reason for being in Glasgae was to attend Sean Fallon's funeral. I'm guessing the game was an add-on.

His (Gouffan) arrival takes the number of Frenchmen at St James' Park up to eight, although the club also contains French speakers Papiss Cisse, Mehdi Abeid and Cheick Tiote.
Newcastle winger Sammy Ameobi tweeted on Tuesday: "Need to brush up on my French because this is just getting ridiculous lol".

Sissiko looks likely as well, either on a free at the end of the year or for a small fee in January
