Why delusional? What obviously transparent, unequivocal fact in the Flames history of development for young players would lead everyone to conclude that it has harmed any prospects' future potential?

I just realized next year, most possibly, we will have three high scoring lines each with its own 30-goal getter.

Jarmoe on the first
Glencross on the second
Cammalleri on the 3rd

Pretty impressive when you can bury a former two time 30 (usually more than 20) goal scorer on your third line. And depth is the problem with this team? Mayyyyybe...

Not when injuries are finally done with.

I think next season, like the 2nd half of this is going to be good.

Sven named to the WHL Western Conference 2nd Allstar Team. No doubt he could be in the 1st Allstar Team had he played a full season.

Max Reinhart and Michael Ferland were also named respectively in the Eastern Conference. Other notables would be Patrick Holland (former Flames prospect included in Cammalleri deal) being named to the Western Conference team and Sam Reinhart (Max's little brother) being named the best rookie of the year in the Eastern Conference.

Time for Sven to tear it up in the WHL playoffs. 14 pts in the first round

Has his immense impact on the locker room been brought up yet?

Whether it was media excitement getting to the players, or this kid's enthusiasm and love for the game jacking up that dressing room... his short tenure here definitely produced a much different Flames product on the ice.

Maybe he's the leadership change we need. I'm not saying we throw an 'A' on him right away, but I genuinely believe this kid brings something huge to the dressing room.

Proof?
Zetterberg, Backlund.
*sigh* Every time there's a thread about drafting well, Zetterberg and/or Datsyuk come up. There's a reason for that - they are the exception and not the norm.

Blah blah Detroit draft blah blah awesome blah blah Calgary blah blah monkeys spinning wheels to draft blah.

Nope.

I like the Calgary Flames, and love looking for reasons they can be successful.

You should have caught those games with Baertschi in the lineup. They were pretty good.

I watched a one goal win against Minny, a OT win versus SJ, a good win against Phoenix and a loss against the Oilers.

Good results overall, not really that different from what you would expect from most of the season and certainly not anything that would have me saying that Sven energized the room or deserved an A.

The guy played well but no reason to overreact or overrate what he did. It was impressive enough watching him play without throwing out claims of putting an A on his jersey.

"I'm not saying we throw an 'A' on him right away"

But nevertheless, I saw the Flames on-ice product as considerably more energized than what we've been seeing recently.

I'm not crowning the kid as the path to a Flames 2013 Cup, I'm just floating a suggestion that a kid's excitement and enthusiasm may have had a large impact on this group.

The reason the Flames were energized in because a certain Jarome Iginla wasn't going to be upstaged in his own house by some kid. The funny thing is that those games were a lot like a jam session where a veteran is taken to task by some kid and they end up firing riffs back and forth at each other. And in that limited sample of games, Sven won.

Baert-man is the real deal.

Sven needs to add a Memorial Cup to his resume. Then he can show up to camp next season and show our sad sack losers how to win.

I saw something quite similar. Sven seemed to be a challenge to Jarome.

What I saw that was different, though, was in the identification of the winner. I think the real winners was the Flames. Jarome played better when Sven was in the lineup, sure, which really helped the team. Sven played well also. I really liked seeing that, it's a big positive going forward.

And maybe in just 4 games

I've been trying to come up with a former flame that reminds me of Sven,a kid with not only talent and will, but with the swagger and confidence that he seems to possess.

Fleury and Roberts came to mind but they just didn't fit his style...then it came to me!

Sven Bartschi reminds me of...
Spoiler!
