I understand that they bought Mahrez with the Sheikh's spare change.

yup, he's amazing. Especially since it's again no 80m+ transfer ... normally you can't compete with such cheap owners.

And of course, big bad UEFA hate on Peps amazing project too. Being City manager must be really hard you guys.

This feels like a rental for Sane's injury. Like Sanchez, it's tough to see the long term fit without selling someone else, or how Mahrez would be happy as a rotation player when he's obviously an every match player. Could probably flip him again in the summer and break even or even turn a profit.

if it's because of the Sane injury then this is mental. Why not use Phil Foden? This is exactly why Sancho left.

Pretty sure Foden is also hurt. But they did pay £40 million for Bernardo Silva not even 8 months ago, why not use him? Just seems like a panic move. Besides Sane misses the Basel tie, but they shouldn't need him for that anyway, and they're still very comfortable in the league. Very strange.

Nobody really talks about it, but there's a pretty good argument Arsenal have a worse keeping situation than Liverpool. What a debacle that was by Cech. Both Arsenal and Liverpool should trigger Oblak's release clause no matter how absurd it is.

why would they risk a Giroud injury when a deal with Chelsea is all but agreed? Seems weird.

Because Aubameyang is demanding an extra £200,000 a week after watching this mess and the deal will fall through. Or at least he should. What a typical Arsenal fan day, get some hope, have it quickly crushed.

I don't really want him at Spurs, but the idea of swooping in and crushing their dreams is too appealing! But surely he can't want to go somewhere where there is no Champions League and not much else of note to look forward to? I guess the paycheque is still too good to turn down.

What a strange Game, Huddersfield didn't even pretend to try and get forward. Are they so terrified about their goal differential that they won't even try to earn a point? That was every bit as dull as the loss to Swansea.

Have to disagree. Cech is not worse than either GK in Liverpool. Actually, that's quite disingenuous.

Over the course of their careers, of course he's better. Right now? Cech has let in a lot of stinkers this year and a good chunk of other goals a better goalie would save. Mignolet and Karius have moments where they make stop saves, and of course moments where they couldn't stop a beach ball. Cech is in decline and Arsenal, like Liverpool, need a long term upgrade at the position. Letting Szczesny go obviously looks like a mistake now.

And I guess Ozil will not be going to United at year's end, signs a new deal with Arsenal for around £350,000 a week. Also, the Ornstein gifs in the replies are always incredible, Arsenal fans are ridiculous.

Alot of stinkers this season? Yeah gonna need you to cite them. Not what I've seen.

Cech hasn't really declined much at all, Karius and Mignolet shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath

Well there's this...

https://twitter.com/user/status/958447180502720512

...and there's the eye test. He's 36 in May, reflexes aren't what they used to be, and as I said there's been a few goals this year a better keeper would have stopped. When they acquired him it should have been as a stopgap. They need an upgrade.

Mahrez staying at Leicester. City have made 4 bids up to £60m, but Leicester wanted £95m. Deal off.

Going to miss Giroud at Arsenal. A lot of fans were always on his case, but I thought he did a solid job for us most of the time and never got the respect he deserved.

Glad to have Aubameyang though!
