As for the vegetarianism: do you have any evidence to support your claim that Japanese people live longer than other westerners because of their diet? I saw you mention that them being mostly veg's makes them live longer than the rest of us, and maybe I missed your link, but I would argue there are many other factors about why they live longer on average. If this is actually something proven, I'm packing my bags and not eating any more meat.
Also, congrats to anyone who is a vegetarian. I don't think I'd be able to do it, but if it did mean I'd live longer I'd be all for it. My problem is not over meat-eating, but rather over junk eating and not exercising enough.

Tired of the drive bys...so I speak up now.
Yes there is lots of evidence that Japanese live longer...it is based on their "mostly" veg diet...

Over a year ago I wrote about The China Study, a book by T. Colin Campbell and his son based on a huge epidemiologic study of diet and health done in China. The book’s major thesis is that we could prevent or cure most disease (heart disease, cancer, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, bone, kidney, eye and other diseases) by eating a whole foods plant-based diet, drastically reducing our protein intake, and avoiding meat and dairy products entirely.
I noticed a number of things in the book that bothered me. I found evidence of sloppy citations, cherry-picked references, omission of data that contradicted the thesis, and recommendations that went beyond the data.
The China Study was embraced by vegetarians because it seemed to support their beliefs with strong evidence. Minger has shown that that evidence is largely illusory. The issues raised are important and deserve further study by unbiased scientists. At any rate, one thing is clear: the China Study is not sufficient reason to recommend drastic reductions in protein intake, let alone total avoidance of meat and dairy foods.

Yup, I remember reading a book on effective brainwashing techniques employed by cults. the commonality was in the diet, they reduced protein intakes to a very low amount by convincing their new cult members that their vegatarian based diet was a miracle path to a long and health life.
So all you vegatarians can become zombies under my mass protein intaking meat based diet.
All hail Emperor Crunch.

The spelling is below my notice, they're lucky I don't replace their names with numbers.
all vegheads will be labeled 1-10, if you don't fit into that numbering system, well, I can't promise you a quick and painless death.
