He's doing a bang up job for you lot. I've heard on more than one occasion that he was the brains behind the Leeds squad and Dennis Wise was his puppet.

How has that Lualua looked this season?

He's played 1 and scored 1. Saw him a bunch last year. He's got pace to burn. Has a few injury problems - hamstrings. I know Gus was really keen to bring him back for a permanent year long loan. He'll be good, very good.

I must confess that it is a little weird to see all the different nationalities playing for a League One side. A few years ago they were all English, with the occasional Scot or Irish. Now he's brought in Spanish, Argies, Uruguayans, Congolese. It is odd but if he gets BHAFC back to the Championship for the inaugural season at Falmer, no one will care.

Absolutely fantastic result today. 2-1 win with the winner coming in the 6th minute of injury time. Alone at the top on 17 points.

Gus will get the keys to the city if he takes them up this season.

SEA-GULLS!

Even I'm surprised as to the Albion's current league form. 1 goal conceded in 5 matches - 4 clean sheets. No red cards (recent). Good, attractive, winning football. About time too. They've been dreadful to watch over the past few years.

I just hope that however they do it, they are in the Championship for next season. That new stadium looks fantastic and would be lost in League 1!

Gus won't be happy dropping points to bottom-feeders. Big match next weekend.

Replace deserved with needed, having Lallana and Barnard back is helping big-time as well.

Former Albion Club Director and comedic legend, Sir Norman Wisdom passed away at the age of 95.

"Sir Norman became a cult figure in Albania, where his were the only films from the West allowed in the former communist state. Albanian Ambassador Zef Mazi said news of Sir Norman's death was dominating the news channels in his native country."

Wisdom's fondness for Brighton & Hove Albion is renowned in Albania and consequently there are many "Seagulls" fans in Albania. It was funny when England played an away game there in 2001, Sir Norman went and was more popular than David Beckham.

His son owns the local sports shop in my town. It is pretty big news here in the SE.

A thoroughly undeserved away draw - sorry NBC, we got away with that one.

Check out the 93rd minute penalty, it should never have been given.

That being said, I'll take the point.

For additional info - here's the Johnstone's Paint Trophy 3rd Round Draw

Northern section:
Carlisle v Crewe
Rotherham v Huddersfield
Bury v Accrington Stanley/ Stockport
Sheff Wed v Hartlepool

Southern Section:
Swindon v Brentford
Plymouth v Exeter
Southend v Charlton
Wycombe v Bristol Rovers

When are those matches being played? I read that the Accrington Stanley ruling won't go down til Oct 20! That's nuts!

Poyet was furious in the post-game interview. He's not upset that the decision was a mistake, he's furious at the linesman.

The handball occured outside the box (they showed a replay). The referee who was in great position (about 5 feet away) awarded a free kick outside the box. "I can accept if the referee is at another angle and gives it but WHY is the linesman running in from the sideline insisting that it's a penalty when it's not even close?"

Poyet: "You would never see the opposite happen, where the ref gives a penalty and the linesman runs in to say it's not, never. I would like to know the name of that linesman and how many betting accounts he has. Obviously he wants to be famous."

Yeah, you have to take points when you can. 2 matches, 2 late goals. They had chances to put both games out of reach but didn't. The away draw to Tranmere was bad because you expect to put that team away. The Cherries are OK this year, but that poor decision cost the full 3 points. Gus should be p*ssed.

Albion had 81% of the ball today against Yeovil Town in a 2-0 defeat.

Good times.

4th round qualifying of the FA Cup was today as the Conference Premier teams entered the competition. After this will be the 1st Round Proper where League 1 and 2 teams enter.

The biggest story by far is a little team called Hythe Town. They are in the KENT PREMIER LEAGUE (what?) which is the equivalent to the 9th Division! With EPL being the 1st. Today they beat a Conference South team (6th Division)

They have already won 6 matches in the FA Cup to get the the First Round.
The team also received 12000 pounds for winning today

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonli...staines_0.aspx

And who do they want in tomorrow's draw!? Southampton of course!

Thank God I wasn't, utterly embarrassing. We almost out did ourselves yesterday, we threw away a three goal lead only to steal victory in stoppage time. Oh well, I'm stoked about the cup tie; an affordable away match!
