Jayme Doll, Global News reports, was tracking it in Bottrel (20-25km north of Cochrane) and when she called in at just after 6 it was hailing so loudly you could barely hear her talk.
Doug Vassen was in Crossfield right beside the Number 2 and the sky was dark grey all around him but no rain coming down on him. He talked about being caught in a 20min downpour that "we couldn't do anything in."

Question for you weather guru's -
I have to go out about 7:30 to pick up my fiancee from chinook - I am not far away in Marda Loop, but my new car just got fixed for some hail dings, I dont want any more! any thoughts on if its going to hit the glenmore resevior area of the city?

I'm out in the boonies east of the city, I suppose I should board up and batten down the hatches, that picture on Global was black as night.

I was looking at the radar on The Weather Network web site and it looks like it will miss most of the city. Airdrie - not so much.
From Tuscany, the North is very dark. To the West there is some light poking through. No rain at all.

I am near Langdon and it looks like the large cell is north Hwy 1 but over Langdon it looks like it is starting to updraft and pick up. Cool stuff.
EDIT: Wind picked up, some thunder, light rain and that is it. It is sort of hanging around here but overall nothing severe. Strathmore looks to be right dead center for that big cell.

Well im back. I didn't really take into account the lack of cellphone reception so I didn't get anything. Got stuck in some good rain, nice lightning show... but nothing in terms of funnel clouds or rotations etc. Saw global camped out by carstairs overpass, so I sat over there for a while thinking they knew something i didnt... but I got fed up and went to a crash on the highway instead.
I've got some photos, nothing even remotely spectacular about them, but I'll post em anyways.
