Oh I get it now. Just because a guy can't afford good seats or wants to sit in the Family Section (which is what those corner seats are) he should just sit back and say nothing while the group of drunk morons around him continue to hammer back beer after beer insulting everything Calgary every chance they get. Makes perfect sense. He should know better than to go to a Stamps game and not expect to be verbally assaulted by visiting fans in his own stadium.

Is it that hard to figure out that if you give respect to others, you will receive it back? My fellow rider priders have got a lot of work ahead of them to re-store there reputation in Calgary and Edmonton. Sadly, it's getting worse - not better.

There are tons of rivalry games in this city where the problems are either non existent or muted. Oilers, Canucks (bad, but not nearly as bad as Riders), Leafs, Canadiens, Eskimos.
None come close to the problems that exist when the Riders are in town. Absolutely there are jerks in the Stamps crowd, but while you can make yourself out to be a martyr all you want, the simple fact is, Rider fans are the problem, and Rider fans are the reason things get so bad. Even if you are in the minority that is not the problem, the reaction you face is the result of the ######s in green who have ruined the reputation of all Rider fans.
Nobody in Western Canada respects you guys, and that is your own damn fault.

Acutally beer is prohibited in the Family section which is limited to Section A where I sit these days to avoid the drunks Riders games or not.
Should a visting teams fans be afforded the same privilige? Should a visiting teams fan who does not say anything to a stamps fan be free from being verbally assaulted at the game?

Putting in 30% visiting team fans into any stadium is the problem. If the demographic situation were reversed then situation would be reversed. It isn't that the attitude of a particular fan base is different. So I agree with you that it is the Rider fans fault that so many people go to visiting stadiums and that is why we are disliked but don't think for a second that fans of other teams behave any differently. They just aren't there in sufficient numbers to cause problems.
And like you say the Cannucks rivalry is bad but not as bad. The only reason it isn't is because season ticket holders hold so many of the tickets.

You've never been to a Flames, Oilers or Canucks game when Toronto or Montreal are in town, have you?

I have season tickets. They aren't near 30%. Toronto might get close but the price of tickets in the lower bowl weed out a lot of people and really change who attends the games.
The canucks game maybe have 1 in 6. And those games you see the most problems so it really demonstrates what I am saying above.

Indeed, and the common thread you find with both Canuck and Rider fans is that they simply are not respected anywhere. That isn't a problem of numbers. That is a problem of attitude.

And numbers lead to behaving like it is a home game which lead the home teams fans to think they have a bad attitude.

Well its pretty obcious you were doing more then just asking for a hat. Go to Jersey City, they have them there... Or at least they did when I was there last.
What's annoying people is the fact that you were obviously trash talking, which I think most people are fine with. It's fun to trash talk back and forth.
However, its obvious that you can dish it out, but are unable to take it. You had to be expecting to get ganged up on when you say that on a Calgary board and when push comes to shove and you start to lose and become a bit offended by what's being said, you try to put the toothpaste back in the tube and go back to say that 'all I was doing was asking for a hat'.
That's a pretty childish act and something I would expect a 10 year old to do... so unless I'm mistaken and you are in fact 10 years or younger, use some of that 'Rider Pride' you flatanders brag of, sack up and take your verbal beating like the slow inbreeding farmers you are.

You know im trying to drop it but alas everyone feels the need to bring up the same point... (Big surprise)
So let me say this one more time, it has nothing to do with me not being able to "take it", it has more to do with the level it gets taken to, and then you classy stamps fan turn around and call Riders fans the worst kind.
Last i checked we dont call u guys inbreds, drunks, r*tards etc.
If you cant see the difference between me saying we are going to tune the stamps, and we're 3-0 compared to all the above retorts then obviously my low IQ and bad english cant communicate with you Mensa graduates.

I think there's a slight difference between cracking jokes on a message board and going into another team's stadium, blitzed out of your mind, and screaming at the home fans.

Not at all.
Personally, minus the bitching and whining, I think this thread has been a great back and forth between rival fans. But if you didn't expect it to branch past football and into insulting the province and those who reside there, you're a bit delusional.
I'm fine with everything you said and everything said back... Whoever isn't needs to grow thicker skin.

I think it is a fun rivalry. Let's not take it too seriously, (or get completely wasted at a football game).
