Yup. And Groves was something like 0.08 seconds away from 3rd.

Someone gave him a pint of beer and he took a huge gulp, then during his interview with Hedger he started auctioning the beer, then he said "$1000 to myself, woohoo" and he took a drink. haha

Gold for GB
Just thought I would mention the first individual gold for Great Britain in 30 years. Absolutely awesome - Amy Williams is all over the press this morning.
I love to cheer for the Canadians in most of the other sports, but there's nothing better than a home gold medallist.
Congrats on Canada's four golds so far - hope there's many more to come (especially hockey).

Yes... toboggan. I distinctly remember as a child reaching 140 km/h on my tobbogan at Lake Bonavista while having to navigate hairpin turns on a hard as concrete track. We weren't quite as fast however as our snow suits and mittens took away an aerodynamic advantage.

It was so awesome to watch Montgomery come from behind to beat the Latvian. I went nuts when I saw the 2nd place come up for Dukurs!
Hopefully today will be a good day for Canada. I am optimistic for medals in:
Men's 1500 m Long Track Speed Skating (Denny Morrison)
Ladies' 1500 m Short Track Speed Skating (Kalyna Roberge)
Men's 1000 m Short Track Speed Skating (Charles Hamelin, Francois Hamelin)
I hope we can medal in the Ladies' Super G Alpine Skiing but I am not optimistic. The alpine skiing team has had a rough Olympics thus far.
