EDIT:

Good to see you worked it out!

GREAT COMPROMISE, BTW! Jam night out, and then jam night at home! BRILLIANT!

It appears to me that you have absolutely no idea. I'm guessing your experience within a marriage, especially one containing a pregnant wife is non-existant. The very simple fact is that if you want a marriage to actually work, if the woman has a problem, it is instantly the guy's problem. Because the alternative is stang expecting his woman to deal with these issues on her own, and then it's not a marriage anymore, it's two people hanging out in the same house.

Personally, I think a lot of the stuff in here is pretty lame. I'd go stir-crazy if my wife wasn't able to cope without me 2 nights a week, especially when the kids have been put down already and the chores have been taken care of, even if she is pregnant. But then, there's a good reason I didn't marry a woman like that.

Put me in the freak catagory... but agree 100%

Pregnant women are damn sexy!

Very proudly, I might add.

Complete and total bulls***. Working through tragedies like murder and rape, job loss, moving, medical emergencies, and a thousand other legitimate problems are what a marriage is for. That is when two people absolutely need each other to the point of the exclusion of all else to not fall into a pit of hopeless dispair.

When a woman (or man) goes about making things like "jam night" or whatever into something along the same emotional lines as what I described then I have no time or sympathy for them. Boo-hoo, they grow up and get over it.

I'm not knocking the rest, but come on, guys get a bad rap for supposedly sitting around doing nothing. Most guys I know are doing non stop kid stuff all weekend, helping with the house in addition to all the traditional male stuff, like house maintenance, car maintenace, shovellin the snow, mowing the lawn
etc etc. Why assume the 'poor woman' does all this while the 'fat slob' sits around?
I was simply imagining the fight. I'm sorry if my imagination got carried away and you found offense. However, if this particular argument occurred while he was on his week of 12s, then she was pulling the majority of the load at home, plus her own full time job. Not that the roles won't change in another week. At that exact moment she might very well have been feeling overwhelmed and threw stuff into the argument that had no business being there. Women fight emotionally, right or wrong.

Also, I would never assume that the man is a "fat slob" that does nothing. It would never fly in this day and age. I'm sure he does lots.

The same goes to you as well though. You shouldn't assume that the man is doing all the tradional male things around the house either. I'm quite capable of car maintenance and house repairs and do the majority of that stuff.

All these responsibilities that are being thrown around here are usually done by the most capable of the pair for the task, or the one with the most time. It usually evens itself out in the end.
