I honestly think it's just a matter of time. Slowly, but surely all of our questions will be revealed.

Playing on the old George Carlin bit, "How does cocaine make you feel? It makes you feel like doing more cocaine," a Lost episode is rarely inherently satisfying to me, it simply makes me want to watch the next episode.

They've got to be on future island, seeing as how Jin is rocking the van with tunes, not like that stuff was working before.

NM. Drunkeness talking.

Past island you mean? Like way way past, not three years original lost past.

You think past island? Jin has been on the island twice as far as we know, once with young Roussou (sp) and once with the regular ol losties. I'm thinking they arrived on future island as it's Jin with long hair (never seen before) and the Dharma van is rebuilt. Meh, maybe I'm wrong, I'll attempt to discuss at another time when I'm not housed.

They got to the island at a time where Dharma was relativly new to the island. Also explains how Faraday was at the Orchid when it was under construction.

Next weeks episode was actually to air before this one but the producers thought that 316 fit better before we find out what happens to Locke.

Anyone else think that Ben killed Penny?

He said he had to take care of a promise to an old friend (he promised to kill Widmore's daughter).

He called Jack from a marina all bloody (marina where Desmond's boat is docked?)

Only problem with the theory is how did Desmond's boat get from London to LA so fast?

soooo ... talk him out of killing himself, and then kill him.

Awesome. They also killed off the best actor on the show (albeit, his part has been miniscule). Tonight's episode just pissed me off for some reason.

Also ... as a side rant, I'm so sick and tired of seeing that stupid ACCESS watermark in the upper right corner of the screen.

I think Michael Emerson is the best actor on the show.

But I agree about the stupid watermark.

I think tonight's show confirmed some plot points that a lot of us suspected. I suppose we'll get a front row seat to Ben's coup of the Others leadership. See how the Dharma went down and battled with The Others. Probably eventually find out Richard and how he got to be there.

This being LOST, I'm sure this is another curveball. This ep set us up for the whole "Ben is evil, Whidmore is good" angle that I just don't trust it. Too many clues point to Whidmore being the "angels" side and Ben being the Devil side. If anything, tonights show proved to me the LOST writers really like effing with heads. Good ep though.

Here is my theory on the Jon Locke situation. Ben needed information from him (about faraday's mom and Jin to get Sun), once he had it, he had to kill Locke. Why you ask? Because Ben is not supposed to get back to the island (which is why he didn't flash away with Jack et al), Locke knew this and if he was alive, probably wouldn't have let him come.

A few things I was thinking about

- why can't both Ben and Widmore be evil? Yes a war is coming, but between two bad sides.

- I love how evil Ben is, he gets what he wants and doesn't care about anyone else, yet makes you think he cares. I love that the writers don't give us the villains intentions, or clearly state who the villains are.

- Does anyone else think that Cesear is working for either Widmore or Ben?

- Christian is alive. I wasn't sure what his story was, then I was thinking that he was travelling through time like Sawyer, Juilette, etc. But since John is back alive, I think Christian is too. I also think he was moving through time hence being on the boat telling Michael his time has come and he can go, then flashed away.

- I also theorize that certain people have the ability to time travel at will. It would explain Christian's ability to be where he needs to be when he needs to be there, then be gone. I also theorize that's what Richard is doing as well. This is explained by Widmore seeing John unchanged after 50 years.

- What are the roles of Richard and Christian? The "Leaders" have been Widmore, then Ben, then Locke. Where do they come into play?

- Is anyone else thinking the numbers and computer were there to keep the island from moving, and flashing? It would explain the flash when the computer stopped, and how Desmond didn't die (he moved the explosion or whatever would have killed him didn't).

- Ben's attorney convinces Hurley to get on the plane?

- Who was the girl that left with Lopedius? Sun? If so, why isn't she going through the flashes like the rest of them?

- Where are the kids that were kidnapped in Season 1, Episode 1? Won't somebody think of the children?

Thumbs down Boeing 737 from Los Angeles to Guam

Boeing 737-800 - plane used in Lost episode, can't be sure it is an 800 but the 800 has the longest range.
Range: 3,060 nautical miles
Distance from LAX to Guam - 6113 statute miles so 5312 nautical miles

This took me about 5 minutes to find with the assistance of google, I wish the producers would have taken the time.

When the pilot states that "I guess we aren't headed to Guam", he probably should have known that, seeing they would have run out of fuel shortly after Hawaii.

It has always been a major peeve of mine that they use stock footage of some generic aircraft in movies and tv shows, but they actually took the time to brand the airplane. Why not spend the time to figure out you have the wrong aircraft for the itinerary!!

You guys are bang on with your observations. A couple more things:

-The folder that Ceasar was looking at contained the same map that Rousseau had as well as the blast door map from the Swan.

-The producers have always said that Jack is the most important character in the show and Locke and Ben ending up on the other island where the Hydra is and not with Jack, Kate and Hugo makes me think that Locke does not belong on the Island and Jack is the true leader. Christian and Claire are important so it stands to reason that Jack would be too.

MQS, I think your bang on about the Swan station. Dharma would have wanted the island to stop moving so that people could travel back and fourth easily.

no comments from yesterday's episode? i thought it was excellent, it'll be very interesting to see how the whole Dharma situation ends up. are the others still going to attack and try to take over the compound, or did the whole timeline change with Sawyer saving that girl. and i'm guessing that kid that was born as a result will have to be someone significant

I'll put $10 on the fact that the kid is Alex's boyfriend.

I like that we're going to be learning about the Dharma Initiative this way, it's a little different from the flashback/forward approach the producers have taken.

I'm wondering if Ben is on the island yet, where's the timeline with Ben and Dharma? He must be an adult by now as he'd be old enough to be Alex's father. How far are we from the genocide of the Dharma Initiative?
