No classic Start Menu at all in Win7, unless someone manages to hack it back in.

I would if your going from 7100 there are bug fixes in 7127. if your going from 7127 to 7137 there isnt much of a difference.

Just downloaded and installed the RC. 7100 I guess it is. Meh, it's OK, but I'm not quite sure what all the hype is about. I actually think I preferred Vista believe it or not.
The system tray icons are pretty boring (the system ones), the white, almost glow, to the open tasks on the taskbar I find quite annoying and distracting and gadgets don't seem to work quite as well, they sometimes overlap each other and the placement seems off to me.

Differences will be bug fixes and tweaks, I think I remember reading that the feature set has been locked. But I haven't seen anything yet about what the differences are.
As for where, not to be discussed here.

Well, I figured as much. I was just curious if there was anything that stood out in the version, as to changes.
As to where, already found it, downloading...

Looks like it will be released at the end of June (leaked by Best Buy) for $50 dollars for the upgrade.

Seriously? Just $50 to upgrade from any previous version of Windows to the full version of 7?
Any difference for the 64-bit version? Any word on editions yet? (ie. any equivalence to "Home Basic" ... "Home Premium" ... "Business" ... "Ultimate")

Though it doesn't hit the street till mid October according to that memo.
Sweet - I was worried that W7 was going to be more $ for an upgrade. Though I still think I shouldn't have to pay for Vista SP2...
Full memo is here:

I'm sure that's for Windows 7 Home Premium, but even that's pretty decent. Though with Snow Leopard being $29, maybe they'll reduce the prices further.

Yeah, got the wife's system and mine both on 64-bit 7201. Guess I'll be downloading ANOTHER 3 GB later...
After using it for a bit, I'm pretty sure this is Microsoft's best OS. I do like it and the speed is amazing.

No 7227 from what I can tell. Also, had to reload 7100 on the wife's system as 7201 seemed to keep locking on her. It's been fine on my system.

7100 still locking up on my wife's computer. Not sure what else to do. Think I may have to toss her back to Vista.

I'm actually back to 32-bit for her. Her system says it's capable of 64-bit, but I don't think so. We'll see what happens.
Sucks though because now I will have to buy 32-bit and 64-bit...
