I just want him out of golf not dead. Although if he did die I wouldn't be all that sad.

The ignorance in this thread is astounding.

I was unable to watch any of the golf today unfortunately, sounds like I missed one for the ages.

Likewise. I ended up playing golf myself. Mind you my score wouldn't get me on the tour. Maybe there's a beer cart league i can join

There are tonnes of softy sports especially when compared to others. Rugby vs. Soccer, no comparison, but Soccer compared to Badminton (or is it badmington?) is another magnitude lower.
I guess I was thinking of more than the physical aspect of the event. If someone doesn't think that golfers (at least quality tour players) are tough as nails mentally, I don't know what else could be done to convince them.

I'm such a Tiger fan, but I want to know what you guys would like to see more. I was thinking about this today. Tiger is 4 majors away from Jack Nicklaus' record of 18. Would it be a sweeter accomplishment for him to not win any of the remaining majors this year, and complete the grand slam to tie Nicklaus next year? Or win one more this year, and then complete the grand slam next year, to break the record?

I suppose either scenario is somewhat of a longshot, but it would be stupid to rule Tiger out of any future tournament he plays in. I doubt he even hits the links again now until the British Open where he is the clear favorite.

^^^^crazy thing about that one is that it is 100% real unlike those lame powerade commercials with Vick, Lebron and Ronaldino (sp?).

I think he even nailed it on the first take IIRC.

I heard the ad was supposed to be something else entirely, and this was shot between takes. The footage was too good not to use, so they went with it.

So when's the next time we see Tiger, the British Open? His knee seems to be in pretty rough shape, and we all know he doesn't need to play in tournaments for the money, or to stay competitive. Unless he has a sponsorship commitment to a certain tournament before then, I don't think he'll play until the Open.

I went out after watching it last night, and had myself convinced that I was putting on US Open Style Greens. How does 6 holes of 3 putts and a 4 jacker on the first 10 holes sound! Despite those adventures on the green I did manage to somehow come in around my handicap with my score. Which is also about the calibre of a beer cart league golfer.

Tiger is out for the rest of the year according to the Sportsline crawl.
