I like their stuff. Try some of the rest of their songs...
I like everything from Frank Sinatra to Slayer, with lots of stuff in between!
(and the EA NHL soundtracks are actually pretty good at introducing new bands - not everyone likes the style of music they play, but lots do)
Well, if it suits your tastes, all the power to you. For me though, thank god they are implementing custom soundtracks.

I've never owned a console before, but I am strongly considering picking up a PS3. Especially because PC users are getting reemed over and over when it comes to the NHL series. I figure if I have to bend over for EA this year again, I may as well bend over all the way and get a console like they want me to!
Microsoft and EA making an agreement to make it an exclusive feature for the 360 to make people buy it over the PS3 version.
I really don't think the NHL series is a big enough deal to warrant that. These developers had problems with the ps3's architecture last year too. Everybody else seems to have figured it out by now, I'm not sure why this group is so different. Custom soundtracks have already been done in MLB The Show, so I'm not sure what kind of hang-up they could of had. Hell, games on the psn can do it. Then again, I'm not a programmer and know nothing of what I speak. Just annoyed and ranting over here.
Since the two systems are more different then Xbox and PS2, it's harder to port between the two. Currently Xbox 360 is the base console for EA Sports games, and it appears to be a difficult task to get everyhting to port over to the PS3 and work properly. Just like how 60 fps was an issue on PS3 for majority of EA Sports games.
Although the custom soundtrack feature won't be shipping in the game for PS3. The developers can still be working on it, and if successful, can make it available via patch. I think it wouldn't be fair if they just give up on it and save it for 2010.

Just to be sure, the game on PS3 is going to by 60 fps correct?
08 looked REALLY bad on the PS3 because of the difference to me.
This game looks like it has it all. It will be interesting to see what buttons are what and what combination you need to hit to do soem of these new moves.

I believe as with last years version the majority of the moves will be done using the two sticks and trigger buttons.
Pretty sweet preview with a video has popped up on ign. Video shows 12 minutes of an eashl game ... this game could quite possibly rock my socks to the position of off.
With a good group of players that could be really fun. This game is gonna be jam packed with things to try. Can't wait.

OK those vids and the article have convinced me. I'll be buying a PS3 and this game as soon as I get back from holidays. Is there much interest in a CP PS3 team? (I saw a couple names, just wondering how many more there might be)

Im not logged online with my PS3 all that often, but i think I could possibly be convinced to be on a more regular basis with the release of '09
depending on the times people are interested and available to play, I just may able to join a CP team/league

The "ps3 username" thread generated about 15 names I think, and if I recall many were interested in some sort of online league. The online leagues in 08 were a little broken, so we never really got it rolling. Sounds like this year will be better. I'm going to wager a guess and say if we could get 10 people on a team that were enthusiastic about it, the team would work really well.
When you get your system, visit the ps3 username thread, throw up your id and send out some invites. I'll probably start a ps3 nhl 09 team thread around early september.
