I personally don't get the whole Twitter craze. I have a few accounts, but I still don't understand the fascination. Most of the people I follow, I can get the same info from their blogs RSS feeds.

I've added people from this thread as well as friends, etc. What I find interesting, though, are some of the celebrities on there. I've never been a star-gazer, I'm always the last guy who knows anything about any famous person's personal life. I've never really cared (and still don't) about that.

If you play games I strongly recommend following @gamedealscanada . Any video game sale in the entire country is posted and some of them are real gems (like Prince of Persia or Metal Gear Solid 4 for $10). Also good for tech people is the cnet cheapskate @cheapskateblog. He'll post things like cheap LCD's or hard drives. Anything that seems like a good deal.

Also, for photographers I can't deny that @scottbourne has some excellent blog posts related to tips for photographers. While he did annoy me for some time by holding contests that required people to RT him (a personal twitter pet peeve of mine) he's been better lately.

My first week in twitter I found them bothersome. Not so much because I hate receiving them, but I feel like a turbo ###### sending them out. I feel like I'm spamming my friends. I much prefer the "mention our name in your post somewhere" (like squarespace) or the "just follow me" way of contests.

Apparently Twitter is going classical, as in an opera. They will debut a libretto at the Royal Opera House in London, England, I believe sometime in September.

And at this point in time, there is no ending to the opera, the ending will be determined by those whose twitter submissions are accepted. They are still accepting laymen submissions on the Royal Opera House's Twitter feed.

So for those who twitter, this is your chance to participate in an opera.
