Only difference between the wigger crowd and the hick crowd is that there is a much greater likelihood that someone was raised on a ranch or farm or is 2nd generation. Not so much with the ones that pretend they're from the mean streets of Compton.

People badmouth hip hop for the bling and the big houses and tough guy lyrics... that's what Toby Keith does. I don't know if it's a fad, but the desk jockeys who gear up in Wranglers and big belt buckles and listen to this crappy music need to figure out they live in Tuscany and not on some ranch.
These tools are the Nickelback of country music and their fans are probably the same people.

Haha oh I agree completely, Big&Rich is the country equivalent of guys like Soulja Boy. I got nothing against real cowboys and old school country music, but when I see someone all cowboy'd up drivin around in a Grand Am I have to laugh. Really, whats the difference between wiggers and these bozos(besides bein 20 years older), both are pretending they're something they're not.
And following this line of the cowboy influence in our province, trucks. In general they're fine. If you need one for your job, or if you've got lots of toys(dirtbike, quad, snowmobile, etc), or if you enjoy off-roading, etc, then there's nothing wrong with them. But if you buy one just for the sake if it being a truck, as an extention of your ego, that you basically just use to drive from your house to your office job and back again, you're a moron.

She bought them with her own money before and while I dated her. Once I saw she had 400 pairs of shoes and 3 Prada/Coach handbags I realized she had a complete lack of perspective. Sorry babe but riding the bus wearing more cash than the cars going by are worth isnt classy, its ######ed.

Bingo.
People in Calgary who dress like they're from the 'hood'... Compton, Inglewood, etc. would then, no doubt, have no problem going down there and representin' at any chance, right?
I would have said the truck-driving, wifebeater-wearing cowboys here in Calgary is a fad I hate too, but it's not a fad here, it's a way of life.

Too true. It's our plague. It's the equivalent of Edmonton's mullets and IROCs.

Clothing with huge logos plasters all over them
Uggs -for f*** sake re-examine your life you tool
Popped Collars
Hypebeasts
Bad Jeans
The Hills
American Apparel Hoodies (The rest of their stuff is pretty sweet)
J.Lindberg (Way to kill a really cool brand)
Star Tatoos
Skate Shoes
Starbucks
80's style
I don't really have a problem with hipsters or tight jeans for that matter. Some of these guys are actually really well dressed but alot of em just try to hard and look stupid. With tight jeans some people can rock em some people can't.
edit: oh also people who wear jeans that are about an inch or so too short for them. you know you can get pants hemmed. and people who wear long socks when their wearing shorts (especially if they also happen to be black)

Aha .. I thought of one. I'm not sure if it's spread around Calgary like it has here, but the damned shoes with wheels in them. Everywhere I go, I see kids rolling around. I want to hip check them into next week.

I didn't think I could name a fad I cared enough to dislike, but I found one.
Girls... don't use the word 'buddy' or 'bro' (unless you are calling your brother)
Found another one:

Bet if they were around when we were kids we'd be all over it.
I mean, who wouldn't want Gadget shoes? We already have computer books...now I just need a cellphone in my finger and a helicoptor in my hat.

Had an idea!
|
Regarding the clothing fads.....I often wonder what happened to jeans and a simple t-shirt.
Hoodies aren't 'that' bad....just the $200 dollar ones that are ridiculous.

that's me in a nutshell right there basically plain t, nice pair of jeans, and some sneakers. Maybe throw in a sweater, sweatshirt, cardigan, flannel etc sometimes.
Are they hoodies your talking about the bape ones (most of which are fake since you can't by bape in canada and I really doubt people head down to ny on a regular basis) with stupid patterns splattered across them.

If you thought the music was bad, try having your local baseball team named after it.
