Don't feel bad. This is one of the better de-railings in awhile. And it's not like it's totally without value to the OP, as he can just see what Resolute has accomplished in the course of this derailing and copy those tactics with the broad he knows on facebook. Now he knows to ask her about action movies, sports, and dragons, rather than any boring crap about her, which is practical advice IMO.

Why don't we just start a thread, and have people list off if they are looking for a date? I know it's not a singles site, but if everyone keeps complaining about not being able to meet people, why don't we hook those people up? To me it seems obvious, but I am no Casanova.
Put me in the category of NOT reading books with dragons in them, but being otherwise the stereotypical CP member! I just can't stand those damn dragon books. It's not realistic at all! I am just a guy who can't like that crazy stuff. Fantasy sucks.

Since we're on the topic of relationships and the internet, I'm wondering what the rest of you single folks out there think: KY or Vaseline? Something else?
Mods: Maybe we can make a poll?

^ The poll should also include an option for those of us who keep a jar of saliva at our bedsides.

hahaha, don't feel bad. I was looking for some ideas for a casual social experiment. This actually is way funnier.
I mean it's not like I'm some loser surfing the net all day living in my parents' basement. I'm a vice-president of a major marketing firm, own my own house, and make six figures a year

Wear a wedding ring. It sure did wonders for George Costanza. Just make sure it's removable.

my turn to de-rail
taken a little out of context, however....
from a sportsfan, posting on a fan forum, this is a little humourous, because at the start of every year dont we all imagine that the flames are winning the cup, regardless of how unlikely it may seem
hell 7 years out of the playoffs, and every single one of those years I was insistent that the team wasnt as bad as it looked and would finally take that next step
sometimes not overly realistic, and maybe just a little crazy, sure it doesnt involve dragons but its still fantasy-ish
back on topic...
just hit her up with classic one liners from captain Zapp Branigan, tell her you suffer from sexlexia and that you find the most erotic part of a woman is the boobies

I would be audacious enough to claim that this thread is not de-railed. I mean you wanna talk about flirting online? Just check out Resolute. He's TOTALLY working this thread right now. Booyakah.

Question #843....
My girlfriend's friend from Victoria is flying out in February to see her and she asked me if I was okay with HIM staying at her place and sleeping on her couch. Now normally I'd have no problem with this but she told me that two have fooled around together in the past. Am I in the wrong for not being cool with the guy staying at her place?

Nope... and I bet that if the situation were reversed, your gf would be steaming mad at you for even asking.

Nope especially if he tries to add you to the collection.

That's what I thought. She said she'd have no problem if the situation was reversed but I think she's only saying that because she knows it would never happen. She assured me that they're just really good friends and nothing would ever happen, but the guy has also recently been ditched by his girlfriend for cheating on her so I think it's pretty reasonable to assume he might not have the best intentions. Plus he's a dude...I know how we act.

If you discuss it with her and it becomes clear that she's not looking for permission, but for approval (in other words, he's staying there whether you like it or not), do let it escalate into a full blown fight.
Do you trust her? If so, prove it. If not, what the heck are you doing with her anyway?
I'm not saying it's cool that she's having a dude crash at her pad, I'm just saying that getting riled up and causing a commotion will only give her and him something to talk about while you're not around. That thar would be the beginning of the end.
After he's gone, you have a talk with her and say that it bothered you, but that you trusted her. Besides, anybody with half a brain can get away with cheating, so if you spend effort looking for clues, you're just going to become paranoid and convince yourself that she cheated.
But seriously, unless there is a money or location reason for this, it's kinda uncool. Moreso if she lives by herself.

Why would she even ask you that? No matter what she says there is no way she'd be cool with the situation were the roles reversed, especially with the so-called friends' current romantic situation. Have you laid it all out for her or no?

She just kind of told me that he was coming and she was excited to see him because they're best friends. Then she mentioned that he was staying there and I gave her a look and she said "Oh, are you oaky with that?" So I was honest with her and told her I wasn't. I think she was kind of disappointed and then she denied that she would have a problem with it if the situation was reversed.

I trust her and I've never made an issue about her hanging out with this guy in general, but I think this is over the line. She has a female roommate but the roommate is hardly ever there.
EDIT: Also if the guy doesn't have the money to spend on a hotel when he coems out here, then maybe he shouldn't be coming out here.
