Well the 3 errors have really cost the Jays so far tonight. The good news is (if you are a Jays fan) is that the Royals are not good and could blow this lead.

Granted a few of those runs weren't Towers's fault but his stuff just isn't good enough to be an effective starting pitcher. The Jays had a few errors today but most of those errors were on difficult plays in the outfield that would have been at the least singles instead of extra bases.
How long of a leash does Towers get this year? I'm of the opinion Janssen should be in the starting rotation and I just don't know how long we can wait on Towers this year.

wow, i though he was steady right up to the 6th inning, first start in 10 days...not all bad. i think that janssen could be a solid guy in the rotation, but they need a guy for long middle relief, and it may be him. guess we'll have to wait and see.

He wasn't terrible or anything but giving up almost two hits an inning to one of the worst hitting clubs in the major leagues is definitely not a great performance.

Glaus left tonights game for precautionary reasons.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2835658
I am not a Jays fan but hopefully the injury isn't serious because the Jays cannot afford to get beat up by injuries if they are going to make a serious push for the playoffs.

They were saying yesterday I believe that he was experiencing heal problems, so that's probably it. Glaus is obviously a really nice player to have on the team, but by the end of this year, they should look to be trading the guy...big guys like him simply don't last as long as they should and it looks like he's already hit his peak.

Do you have any idea what his pitch count was? Thats unusual to let a guy throw 10 innings this early in the year. But if he had his stuff and the pitch count isn't crazy don't take him out.

Dont know what his pitch count was. But read a good article on him in the new SI today. Evidently he is the quickest pitcher in the league(time-wise). Games Halladay starts average around 2.5 hours.

Hallady was being incredibly economic thoughout the game, I'm pretty sure he only ended up with about 110 pitches despite pitching a full 10 innings. A lot of guys have hit that mark by the 6th inning, it's amazing how efficient Halladay can be at times.
Hill continues to rip it up in the early going, I said prior to the season that I feel Hill can be a poor man's Jeter and he's well on his way to getting there. I definitely think he has All-Star potential at second base, he's pretty damn good with the glove and he has a great eye behind the plate as well.

Halladay faced 35 batters in 10 IP and threw 107 pitches. 70 strikes, 37 balls.
Glad I have him in my pool.

Terrible finish. Thought they had it made with Overbay's solo HR in the 8th, only to have the wheels come off in the 9th.
