Ya....because it certainly doesn't happen now when it is against the law.

Excellent point. I wish the criminals wouldn't do it either. Making concealed weapons legal wouldn't change that behaviour though. Hell, it would probably mean more criminals would carry guns because so many John Q. Publics are packing heat. The only way to counteract that would be to arm more law-abiding citizens and before you can say "emergency room", half the population is carrying a gun and the playing field is level and we live in a perfectly peaceful society.

Hey! I've been converted!

I would never carry a gun, ever. The chance of me being in a situation where having a consealed weapon would be an advantage is ridiculously small. That tiny advantage is far outweighed by the massive disadvantages in living in a society that allows concealed weapons, in my opinion.

Then again, I personally don't understand why anyone (except for police and the military) requires (or wants) a gun, but to each his own.

You mean why anyone who need to carry a concealed handgun if they are not military or law enforcement?

Many citizens use guns for hunting, collection or to go to the range and hit some targets. That is their right.

But you're comparing two different things. Those that go hunting aren't trying to hide their rifle in their pants. Neither are the ones collecting them or heading to the range. Transporting a gun to a hunting trip or the range in a locked case in their car is far different then packing heat in public.

Agreed. And unless you are military or law enforcement, you don't need to do that.

It just seems that with the fear of guns in Canada, many people would want to outlaw them 100%. As if no guns would equal no violence.

Agreed, a gun ban would only affect the lawful.
