CJAY was better 10 years ago when they used to do more prank calls, had Sergio the Master Baker and called Pig Boy for advice. Since they've dropped a good chunk of their comedy act, couple with terrible music that never seems to end, their station sucks.
Vibe 98.5 isn't much better - likely because they're owned by the same people.

A2+ I think means all persons 2+. I would think Share is the most important as it is share of total listening hours. CJAY has a 6.2 share and CFEX has a 4.1 share.

I think each station chooses the numbers that make them look the best.
A2+ is all listeners age 2 and up. I guess for all those advertisers targeting preschoolers.
Share is simply the percentage of all the hours of radio that all of the participants were listening that was spent listening to each station. The total should add up to 100% (give or take with rounding).
Cume is the total number of people who were exposed to each station for at least a minute during the survey period. So, if you were in your doctor's waiting room and they had Lite 96 playing, you were exposed to it even if you would never choose to listen to it. 86% of Calgary's population was exposed to Lite 96 for at least a minute during that period.
Daily Cume is the Cume averaged to a daily total for each station.
So, more people listen to Virgin/Vibe on a daily basis than any other station; more people are exposed to Lite 96 at least once in a 3 month period than any other station; and 10% of the time that someone is listening to the radio in Calgary, they're listening to QR. If you worked in ad sales for each station, you would push whichever number gives you the best chance of selling more ad space.
The numbers would also be broken down into day parts and more specialized demographics as well. A station may not do particularly well in an overall A2+ number, but if it pulls in a good percentage of the "right" demographic for an advertiser, it can be money well spent.

Interesting side note. Virgin just let their top rated morning show walk. They will be moving to Edmonton. That will be some pressure for the new guys.

I don't know how you couldn't get tired of their prank calls after a month or so, especially when they kept repeating so many of them. Formulaic and stupid summarizes the majority of them as it is.

Who? Is that the knob from Jack? At least you can listen to Jack without hearing Matt (as he's only on in the mornings, IIRC). It seems like every time I turn on 92.9 I have to listen to BeHarrel trying to be funny.
Although the radio stations in Calgary drove me to satellite/playlists/podcasts long ago, they're still light years ahead of Ft. Mac. Wow the station(s) there are painful. Whoever the daytime host is on 97.9 feels the need to say the same thing three times, just in case you missed it the first two. And as far as music selection goes, it makes whomever is picking the music for Cjay look like a cultured genious.
