I agree with Tom Morello, Hendrix and Page....although some of this question comes down to what kind of music you like in general.

Scanned through the thread, but didn't notice anyone mentioning Raul Midon. Can't stand his brand of sappy adult pop, but he has some chops.

Healey is my personal favorite.

Eddie Van Halen has to get his share of consideration.

Colin James to me is a great guitar player.

Hendrix was amazing.
