The general fans of the series really don't care enough about prospects, this game sells the most in Europe which is why they have the Euro teams in there. Prospects will not officially be put in the game until they play 1 regular season NHL game.

They gear they're game the the mass audience not the niche market of die hards.

Normally I'd agree that's the best way to approach things, HOWEVER since I'm in the niche market, I want it

Hey, I agree... but in the end as long as it's a product I can have fun with over the course of 12 months I'm happy. I've enjoyed NHL 06 more than any other hockey game since the early 90's. It's a good quick hockey fix.

Unfortunately. It looks like we won't have any input in this year's game as we haven't gotten any survey's. But hey, i'll take the free flight/hotel and a sneak peak at the next gen version of NHL 07.

I'll make sure to get as much info out here as I can aswell.

umm you always have been able to pick retro jersey's. On NHL 06 you can select ever variation of Flames jersey's from present to the Atlanta Flames.

I always do play now against friends so you can chose the jersey's. You are right though about dynasty and season mode.

When you test the game tell EA i need a job.

lol, if only it was that easy. Ever since I gave up the dream of playing in the NHL working on the NHL games at EASPORTS has been my dream job. Have you tried getting onto a indy development team like I did? The game I'm helping work on might not do well as we hope in terms of sales but atleast that's a ton of experience and one released game under my belt.

In college I worked on a 16 student team making a mod for unreal tournament. It was a finalist at the Idependent Games Festival for Unreal Tournament 2004 mods. I made enviroment models. I made such things as the hand gun and alot of the objects seen in the levels.

Default Return of sliders!

Just thought of another little tweak that EA used to have.

The ability to increase you or your opponents goalie /player rating.

Sliding the meter to the right increased the goalies ability and what not, this way when playing a noob you can adjust his setting super high to give him a chance.

Have you tried doing anything since then? I kind of gave up for a few years after the college I went to wasnt what I expected it to be and just concentrated on doing web and graphic design. Then a couple years ago decided if I really wanted to get into the game industry that I would have to get my ass in gear so I started looking for mods to help work on.

Unfortunately the two mod teams that I did join flopped because the team leaders lost interest but the work that I did do with them helped me land a trial spot with the indy team I'm with now. Now I'm officially on the team helping with modeling and texturing. We're releasing a HL2 and BF2 mod to test how our code works on other engines but we're also developing a retail game.

NHL View, PC version. Get it... I don't know how people play EA's games NOT on a pc. I have every single goalie with correct gear, updated playoff rosters, updated equipment, updated arena's, updates goal horns... everything

Yep, that's a big reason that whether I end up getting a console this fall or not I'll stick to playing NHL 07 on the PC. I've even gone as far as when a goalie is traded or signed by another team on my season I'll take his equipment and edit it so that it matches with the team he's now on.

I hate PC gaming with a passion.

Let me see, comfortable couch, cold drink, large screen TV or hunched over a tiny monitor on a cheap computer chair. Yeah.

I disagree... The ammount of mods you can do with pc games gives it the edge easily.

It depends on the game really... I have a really nice PC, very crisp monitor and a cheap computer chair and I love it.

Plus, how would I play Day of Defeat or CS:S in the living room?

Exactly, I really have no desire to play any games on a console that I can get on PC. That's why I'm probably going to end up just getting a PS2 instead of a 360 or PS3. I'll only be getting games I cant get on PC. And I have a really comfortable chair which is just as good as sitting on a couch.

I'm just trying to get you PC guys riled up.

Although, some people just want to hit the power button and play. Never mind fooling around with video cards, drivers, updates, monitor resolution, wireless keyboards, a special video game mouse, and on and on and on. That stuff drives me crazy.

I enjoy playing on my 24" widescreen monitor with 5.1 surround while sitting in my executive desk chair.

So much that I hooked my PS2 into the system.

Its funny, my wife says that it is my room, but she is forever coming up with 'suggestions' for it.

It's not as bad as you're making it out to be. Unless you have a really outdated computer very rarely do you have driver problems. I cant remember the last time I've had a driver problem with a game.

Game updates arent a bad thing and console gamers have to put up with it too. And some console gamers dont even have the option to patch their games.

Sure PC gamers have to fool around with Options sometimes but there's alot of options available that the console version doesnt have.

As far as the keyboard and mouse you dont have to have a wireless keyboard and game mouse. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse because I like it alot better than a wired keyboard and mouse for doing other things besides gaming.
