I think it is going to take a pennant run for Toronto to come back. The down years took a toll, and it will take something big to get consistently large crowds again.

Same as the Flames - it took the run to get the Dome sold out every night again.

And I too worried about overpaying for BJ Ryan. But it sure is a nice feeling to see him coming in from the pen with a lead.

Jays win again. Wells with 3 homers, MVP chants we're nice to hear.

Going up against some AA Boston pitcher tommorow so very good chance at the sweep

Another thriller of a game. BJ Ryan makes it look so easy.

Never seen anyone with a 91 MPH fastball make hitters look so awful and K so many batters.

Jamie Campell sure has faith in Ryan letting the crowd take the last few pitches. Soooo much easier on the old heart when Ryan comes in then Batista last year

Awesome win. VW with 3 jacks and Glaus with 2 of his own. Best 3-4 combo the Jays have had since Green-Delgado, if not better.

Ryan is MONEY...just money.
Great game...I was nervous there for a bit. VW with 3 jacks...impressive, but looked like he tweaked his shoulder there before that third one. Am still kinda worried about that. Tomorrow should be another dandy between these two.

what can I say that hasn't been said already? Glaus and Wells with monster games, Chacin was decent after a long layoff, and Ryan mows 'em down like they're little leaguers. Nice!

Alot more fun watching the Jays this year. They have a chance to win every game they play.

VW is being helped alot by Glaus just being their. something he did not have last year. Someone to protect him.

Reading all the write-ups on the Jays second win over Boston. I want to add appreciation of Hillenbrand. Besides his winning home-run in game #1, and RBI last night he made some huge defensive plays (scooping very bad throw by Aaron Hill, one bounce sizzler by Ortiz) when it looked like the Jays mid-relief was doomed.
Wierd how at this point Jays are so rich in outfield and corner infield yet so weak in middle infield and mid-relievers. But I would be very hesitant to trade Shea.

In the not-so-good news department, Russ Adams played for Syracuse last night and had... a throwing error. The guy needs to get his game straightened out in a hurry.

One whole error? Thats it, his carreer's shot!

It is absolutely sick that the Jays have five qualified batters with an OPS of .883 or higher. Johnson-Rios-Wells-Glaus might be the most miserable top four fo face of any lineup in the bigs right now.

Adams has had FOUR errors in the five games that he has played with Syracuse, and that's certainly a cause for concern if you're expecting him to return to the Jays' lineup at 2B.

Three of the errors have been of the "fielding" variety and only one has been "throwing", so I suspect it's part of his learning curve at a new position.

Josh Towers record v BoSox this season 0-3
Rest of Jays staff v BoSox this season 7-0

The Yankees should shake the Jays hands when they next meet for helping the Yanks to draw back into a tie at the AL East.

Not to mention Overbay and Hillenbrand in the 5-6 spot. Yikes.

Well no Sweep for the Jays.. Nice attempted comeback though.
Just not enough to pull out the win. Sure had lots of chances though.

Still 2 of 3 from Boston is not bad at all.

It is good that the Jays are 7-4 against the Red Sox and won 2 of 3. But....they have to put together like 5-6 wins in a row and sweep a couple of series. Last night is a nice exapmle where if the Jays win they're like 1.5 games back of the Sox with a 30-22 record to the Sox 29-20 record and own a 8-3 head to head. They have a stretch here of 14 of 17 against sub 500 teams. They need to reel off like a 12-5 stretch here to establish themselves.

Holy 9th inning explosion tonight. T-Bay pitchers threw 70 pitches in the 9th inning. I wonder if Vernon will be back tomorrow, or if they give him some extra time off? I'd hate to see a ngging injury hurt his production.

Another nice game by the Jays tonight. Great to see BJ Ryan come in with two out in the ninth TB threatening, and throw a three pitch strikeout to end the game.

Another chance for the series sweep tomorrow. Hope they can finish it this time.

Can't believe the Jays haven't swept yet. They really were giving it to the Rays until the wheels fell off. Sportsnetnews just said now that only five teams have failed to sweep at this point ... about 1/3 into the season.

Hope not to see Troy Glaus put on the DL tomorrow as well. That would really expose Wells to opposing pitching.

Jays seem Destined not to sweep a team this year. to bad. they seem to put 2 good games togther but thats it. If they could put a string of 4 or 5 they could catch or even pass the Division leaders....
