I guess I'm in the minority but I agree with that Klapka penalty call. He knew exactly what he was doing, cross-checking/pushing the Star into his own goalie. I'd hope that call is made at the other end every time as well. No problem with the call.

IIRC correctly he was hurt for almost his entire draft season. But I guess the Stars saw enough before the injury to know what they were doing. Fantastic pick.

When do we suppose we're gonna see some offence from Parekh? His breakout passes are good and he can wheel at times but 1 assist in 15 games. 12 shots in 15 games.

It might help if he played on a team that knew what offense was/is

A Chicago win would have been slightly better, but either result is good.

He's still so young and raw. He looks decent tonight imo. But no doubt a full year in the AHL is exactly where he should have been.
Plus the Flames are bad and don't score a ton, so tough to rack up assists on this team.

Francis and Steinberg poo pooing the flames moving both big pieces. I find that wild.

A perfect example of a good pick and a good player coming into a great situation to make him better.
If he was drafted by a lesser team and more was expected by him he likely won’t be the player, stats wise, he is.

Lol. Keep praising that oaf Francis.
That's surprising from Steinberg, given what he's been saying on 960. Is he drunk?

He’s a teenager who’s only with the big club because he can’t be anywhere else. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Well, they're right. If the offers they're getting are not great and they're not on expiring contracts it, there's not a massive rush. You can trade them during the draft or next season if they want.
I'd like to see some trades like a lot of fans, but not just for the sake of making a trade. Guys like Kadri and Coleman are good players, don't trade them this week for garbage offers.

Which is why the Flames need more than continuing the collection of magic beans in the next year or so.
Some of the younger talent is getting wasted without the proper development of a team. He needs the confidence of being on a good team, since he’s been on good teams for the last few years. Same can go for other young guys.
Ditching guys like Coleman and Kadri won’t help that.
Backlund is playing out the string, Weeger looks really deflated these past weeks. Name anyone else with some leadership on this team?
Yeah this a rebuild but you really have to hope the young guys don’t lose all important confidence in the meantime as they play on bad teams.

I hope that's the case. This team needs him to be a true offensive point getting player.

Hanley's 2nd time shooting the puck over the glass.
Not a great night all around.

I wondered if he did it on purpose to put the player into the goalie. But on replay it sure looks like reciprocal contact and the Dallas player lost the exchange.
