Do you revel in your own selfishness? "what I get back". Yes, society was setup for you, and it isn't giving you all you desire, so you bitch and whine and want to tear our country apart because you've decided you don't get enough. You sound a lot like a Libertarian, the philosophy that is incompatible with civilization. So please, leave and live in your own fiefdom of one, who gets everything. But stop ####ing up society for the rest of us.

I am libertarian.. every single social program should be voluntary.
I would likely end up paying more for taxes than I do now. My community needs more tax revenue and I would gladly support that increase.
There's about fifty percent of my tax revenues being spent on #### I do not value

"Every single social program should be voluntary" is how you end up with the vulnerable and less fortunate burning your city to the ground.
You've subscribed to a philosophy that is incompatible with society. Would have been nice if you just opened with that.
Canada has no need for the selfish. Why are you here? If you don't like anything about how anything works here, WTF are you even doing? You don't need to hate the place you live. Go somewhere you can swim in your money bin. Please. Soonish would be preferred.

Health Canada can also #### off. I'll decide for myself how much lead I want in my baby formula.

... and yet you somehow fail to do correctly. Provinces do not pay tax, individuals and corporations pay tax and they pay the same rate regardless of where they live. Do think Albertans are entitled to pay a lower federal tax rate by divine right or something? Regardless, Albertan bloviating about equalization is all phoney anyways. Stephan Harper Harper sets the Formula, Alberta politicians *Crickets*... Justin Trudeau keeps the same formula as Harper, Alberta politicians *RABBLE! RABBLE! Yes, I do think we pay more taxes than anywhere else. By a substantial amount. And no, I don't give a #### what Harper thinks. He was a Fed. Just because he had some good ideas doesn't negate the fact that he's part of the system. Alberta was created to push revenue to central Canada. That's why it was created. Had some success in ,1928, that was about it. Time for some changes

Do they pay taxes in Haiti? Maybe you could try hanging out there for a few months and see if you like it.

I think Albertans do very well tax-wise. No PST, no inheritance taxes, low land title fees, lower property taxes etc.
AI Overview
The top 20% of income-earning families in Canada pay over 50% of all taxes (income, sales, and property taxes). By province, high-income earners in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec contribute the majority of tax revenue. While Nova Scotia has the highest top marginal tax rate at 54%, Alberta often has the lowest tax burden for high earners.
Fraser Institute
Key Takeaways
Highest Marginal Rates (2025): Nova Scotia (54%), followed by other provinces with rates over 53% (Ontario, B.C., Quebec).
Highest Income Tax Burden: For a $250,000 income, Nova Scotia has the highest effective rate (39%), while Alberta is lowest (32%).
Contribution Distribution: In top provinces, the top 20% of earners pay between 55.5% (Quebec) and 58% (Ontario) of total taxes.
Low Earners: The bottom 20% of income earners pay about 2% of total taxes.
Federal Contribution: Alberta has the highest federal personal income tax per capita, indicating high contributions to federal revenue.
Fraser Institute
Average Property Tax Rates by Province (approximate):
Manitoba: ~2.72%
Saskatchewan: ~1.33%
Ontario: ~0.71% - 1.2% (varies heavily by city)
Quebec: ~0.71%
Alberta: ~0.64%
British Columbia: ~0.29%

That's weird. Ontario, BC, and Quebec all paid more...
Province Total Net Federal Tax ($)
Ontario $92,392,834,000
Quebec $43,549,895,000
British Columbia $33,037,732,000
Alberta $29,900,565,000
Manitoba $5,745,495,000
Saskatchewan $5,579,351,000
Nova Scotia $4,464,555,000
New Brunswick $3,167,823,000
Newfoundland and Labrador $2,467,751,000
Prince Edward Island $680,671,000
But maybe you mean individually? Except an individual in some other province with the same figure on their T4 as me pays...the exact same amount of federal tax (assuming same deductions/etc).
