I am not totally sure but that twitter post borders on criminal... like in the literal sense; i.e. you might be liable to go to jail for posting that. I'm sure she couched it in all the language of "compassion and healing" at the end to avoid that, but I really don't know if it saves it.

To attack a marginalized group under the guise of compassion love and healing is one the most disgusting things going on today in the conservative movement. To be so obtuse to not realize saying show compassion for their real identity, they dont need to change is the whole point of gender AFFIRMING care. To accept people as they are and they dont have to hide or change their true selfs to meet other people's idea of identity. And if there is an increase in violence recently, maybe having your sense of identity being attacked and singled out as being what is wrong with society, being called mentally ill and having your rights taken away as in this province using the not withstanding clause might have something to do with it? Experts warned of suicide rates increasing in the LGBTQ community as society marginalize's once again after making strides to be accepted.

Meh, she'll love it. My wife was volunteering for Carney in the last federal election. She got a hateful Facebook message from a dude (basically stating that she is the problem with this country) and we had it blown up onto coroplast and it hangs in our office. An insult from 'the other side' is a badge of honour for both sides at this point.

She's an MLA in the BC Legislature. Once Maple MAGA gets a whiff of that post she'll be on the fast track to MP. Cynically, I wonder if that was her goal.

There will be 10 or more mass shootings (in the US) over the next week and this one will stick in peoples minds because of the shooter being trans. It’s really sad that to see how politicized this is getting. There are no “wins” here, politically or otherwise.

The bottom line is that those people don't like it when trans people show up anywhere or in anything. It doesn't matter if it's on TV, sports, politics, or schools, whatever. So of course when something like this happens, they are going to rail on it. They don't like trans people at all and this gives them an easy thing to hate on, because who doesn't hate school shooters.
