It's not a work ethic thing, it's that Huska's "it worked in the WHL" system doesn't work in the NHL. Being ultra passive against an NHL team gives them time to make plays and it makes you look brutal and them look awesome.
The Oilers weak spot is their defense. Flames are the most passive team in the NHL when it comes to forechecking, slowing the rush and defending the neutral zone. They make average players look like Bobby Orr on the rush.
The cherry on top is the Flames don't even pretend to defend the blue line against even man rushes, they just keep backing up, hoping for a shot, save and turnover.
Huska's system may have worked in the WHL where the opposition makes more mistakes and has less skill than an NHL team, but it's putrid at this level and won't win regularly without Vezina quality goaltending.
Maybe he can fail upwards again and be the next GM.

This is totally PR for their 50-50 after all the evidence surfaced that katz was skimming money from it in licensing fees back to the oilers and it was more like 20-80.
Katz is such a shameless creep.
That said for those two kids good for them to get presents and be made to feel good with the #### they are going through. Just no need for the oilers to do it as an intermission show and beat their own chests

None of this is even accurate - the Flames have been a very good forechecking team this year.
The problem is that they tend to play tentatively against the Oilers, and that's on the players, not the coaches.
We didn't hear much from you while the team was going 10-4-1, but great to have you back

Team tank bashing is off limits tonight. We're all on the same side, so give it a break.
