Maybe his son will wind up in New Jersey at some point. He was drafted by the Caps last year.
Looking at his stats, he is a Centre who had 1 point in 25 games in the USHL this season, so he might be a bit of a long shot to make it.

I was trying to figure that out as well. I think they are referencing their loss in the conference finals in 2019, which was the last time they were in the playoffs.
Although looking at the stories, the Sharks got away with one in game three where thy took a 2-1 series lead before losing 3 straight.
