Another thing about Carlo is that you can also recoup some assets by flipping him a couple years down the road when he's a pending UFA, or if he's working you re-sign him. He won't be demanding nearly the term/commitment that Rasmus will likely do.

I don't mind the idea of flipping Rasmus and bringing in Carlo (cost dependent of course).

You must have been looking at his possession numbers at all strengths. At 5 on 5 his career Corsi is 50.5%. Still a bit concerning as he was always positive until the last two years... Then again the Bruins have fallen off as a whole as well.

Thanks, it's not as bad now but trending down.

His zone starts are titled big time to defensive zone starts. No one on our team gets buried like that.

I believe the "flames can do no wrong" when they haven't done anything. I mean you were using the Jones rumors of some slight against management too.

I will have a strong opinion when a move is actually made.

You believe the Flames can do no right and even rumors get you going we get it
I actually thought the Frost trade was amazing at the time. I was very positive about that one.

I just call it as I see it. I try not to have bias towards or against my team. I have liked some moves Conroy has made but he has also gotten a lot of luck (Lindholm turning down that contract).

Sorry if already mentioned,

I found it funny that Sportsnet 960 played the breaking news alert this morning to report on this rumour.

Make no mistake. All of us are biased. Yours seem to include a strong belief that the team should be making more of an effort to tank for higher picks, and therefore you judge a lot of moves on that basis. (at least that's my interpretation of how you seem to feel).

The Flames are interested in acquiring a monster-sized defensemen?

Which teams aren't?

You made some sky is falling posts this weekend about tanking and how delusional we all were for...the Flames not tanking. If I am not mistaken you were calling out the Flames for being "interested in Jones" getting upset about a rumor

Weird to be trying to bring in a vet when we have a ton of young D that need a spot. Even if Andersson is leaving.

Still no reason to bring in an older player for assets right now.

Seems like he would be a good mentor for Bahl and the young shutdown guys in the system. Contract shouldn't be a problem and asking price seems surprisingly reasonable this time of year. (Late 1st or early second) I'd do a 2nd +3rd easily and flip Anderson for a 1st + 2nd at least. Team would get slightly worse (yay tank), maintain a vet presence, and gain draft capital.

Tldr: Basically Carlo + 1st for Anderson +3rd

Does Bahl need a mentor? He’s already established himself as an NHL player who is improving. He’s actually having a better season than Carlo.

That’s a bad trade, holy moly.

Im fine with an Andersson trade if they get a good return, but there is still no reason to spend those assets at this point.

Ok that was a good one.

Would make sense if we trade Anderrson. It depends on the price.

You wouldn't spend all the assets...and that older player would likely be worth more in a year or two with less term left on their deal
