Survivor 48 - Premiere Wednesday, February 26

Star as a Survivor player was, somehow, chaos and calm rolled into one. Her early actions in the game made her a wildcard, as her very visible idol hunt had her telling nearly everyone in the tribe about her Beware Advantage. On top of that, the one person she didn't initially tell she ended up giving the idol to after she solved it for her. But despite keeping everyone on their toes, Star generally tended to sit back on the balls on her feet. As she talked about at Tribal Council, she never chose to be paranoid, figuring, "In the game of Survivor, when your brain can’t operate, your gut will never fail you." So Star failed to heed the warning signs, including Mitch directly telling her to play her Shot in the Dark. And the north star of her gut led her in the wrong direction, as she was sent to have "Uncle JP" snuff her torch.

Star voted off the island taking KFF and Barnes with her.

That was one of the most annoying/frustrating episodes I've ever seen of the show. The most obvious and blatant 4 vs 4, so what does Mitch & co. do? Instead of trying to vote out one of the other 4 they try to vote each other out????? Just stupidity. Try to live another day? No......you're trying to win the entire game, not to just stay one more day. Brutal casting, they need to get some people that will actually play the game, not just try to be nice and make it to the final 8 or 7 or whatever. Terrible.

There's a lot of likeable, nice people this season, but almost nobody is playing the game to win. Not a single person in that tight alliance of 4 got a single vote. What is happening???? Need to get some villains that want to play the game STAT.

I'm glad that other people are bewildered with how this season is playing out. It's not that I dislike Joe, Shauhin, Eva, or Kyle but they're being handed this game on a silver platter. Joe wins every challenge, and Eva (knowingly) holds all the advantages, yet they're not being targeted. I wouldn't mind if Kyle and Kamilla made the final two, as they're "hidden" alliance is an interesting theme, and the two of them may end up causing chaos towards the end of the game.

It's frustrating, as Mitch and Kamilla know they're on the bottom, yet do nothing about it. Why does it matter that you can't "trust" Star when you're going out in 6th place anyway? May as well take the risk and be at the top of the other alliance, as Mary said. I also quite liked Star, I wish they made a point of discussing Eva's idol, as technically I believe Star could have taken it back. It made me sad how "game" Eva was to target Star when they seemed to bond after Star gave her the idol. The entire tribe seemed to dislike Star, and I don't know why.

Also David's facial expressions at tribal were hilarious. You can tell he wants to jump off the bench and pummel the remaining players. If you want to look up what a bitter juror looks like it's definitely David.

It will take a miracle in the last few episodes for this not to be the worst season in at least a decade.

I stopped watching this season after the third episode, and I won't be watching another.



Sounds like I've not missed anything worth seeing. Don't regret it.

Amusingly enough, I did try a couple times. The product was SO MUCH BETTER...but as odd as it sounds, there's too much Survivor there. With my schedule I simply couldn't keep up with 2-3x the watching schedule required to keep up with the show.

It's extremely boring, predictable, nobody is playing to win. I shouldn't have been surprised with the voting tonight, but I cannot believe nobody wants to play. They're fine just giving the money to one or two players. It's incredible.

CBS needs to fire their casting director before the show is completely irrelevant, which is where is heading right now. I cannot believe how boring this season and these players are.

I agree KFF, it is baffling that they didn't take Joe or Eva out tonight. Just really bad players. Mary wasnt going to win the game, great to take to the end.

Not only are they not getting voted out, they're barely getting any votes at all. Eva is clearly part of the power duo, has multiple rewards, and tonight got.........zero votes.

Is so ridiculous you just hope the people running the show on CBS see it too and do something about it before next season because there still may be a few people willing to give them one final chance before ending viewership for good. I'd start by firing the people doing the casting hires.

I cannot believe they didn't take a shot at Joe at 7 who was vulnerable as he'll be for the rest of the game. Mind blowing decision even though I picked the guy to win.

You have to think there is well over a 50% shot that one of Eva/Joe wins each remaining individual immunity challenge.. why in the world would you not go for him tonight. Unbelievable. I would love to hear the reasoning from one of the remaining players particularly Mitch/Kamilla.

Also, I think Eva has to play that advantage next tribal or lose it. So I’m pretty sure she’s safe.

Probably the worst season ever...no idols, no moves, predictable, dumb players...this episode currently has a 3.3 on IMDB we are not alone

Mary's stock was depleting as much as the coconut supply on the island. Despite what she claims to be a "bomb" social game, she was deemed too untrustworthy and chaotic to be brought in as a number by those looking to make a move. So she was unanimously sent out, but, in a fashion befitting to her 20-day fight, she did so by calling out Joe as the one set up to take it all.
Additionally, this week was the last week that Eva could play her "Safety Without Power" advantage to send her or someone else out of Tribal Council.

Mary voted off the island taking dino7c and mikephoen with her.

David was pissed that a move was made. He just wanted Joe and friends to steamroll to the end without making a move. He just didn't realize he wasn't part of the "and friends".

Another wasted night of voting.

Eva has advantages and doesn't even get a single vote tonight. Incredible. Some of the past contestants who played hard in the game must be losing their minds watching the amateur hour going on this season. Or perhaps they just stopped watching altogether.

My favorite line from Mitch was how it was down to the final 6, time to make a move. Ummmm no, that was like 2 tribals ago. Perfect snapshot of this season, too many players that don't know what they're doing, or don't care and just want to make it to one more tribal.
