The Sens were on the power play for the whole game. A couple of bad calls but the rest were just undisciplined penalties by the Flames.

It was undisciplined by the Flames because they were screwed from the start and it will get to them mentally. BS reffing from the start and it just rolled the Flames right down hill from there.

There's not just an issues of penalties in total - but the timing.

Flames had a goal and looked to go up 2-0. Then the bad no goal call and penalty on a challenge that should have gone the other way completely destroyed the momentum. And resulted in a goal right after the PK ended. So it's 1-1 and then there's one of those dumb over the glass penalties which the Flames killed but which took them right out of the game.

Flames kill and start to come back a bit but then a stupid call against Huberdeau for a scrum gives Sens a power play to start the 2nd, which then leads to the Flames not getting a start that they'd want. And then the bad high sticking call leads to an early goal.

And it just kept rolling down hill...

What you said is true, that's what happened. But the elite teams won't let that happen to them. They know they got a bad break but then they decide not to self-destruct. Learning curve opportunity for the Flames.

Agreed but it doesn't excuse the horrendous reffing we saw.

Elite teams have bad games where they let stuff get to them all the time. Elite teams lose 25-33% of their games, don't forget. I've seen Mackinnon have a complete meltdown in a game.
