Sportsbooks are giving decent odds if you think Wolf is going to win the Calder

I know it would be a long shot anyways because of how many talented goaltenders the USA team has to choose from… but it’s too bad the rosters are being selected in early December for the Four nations. That’s just not enough time for Wolf to steal a spot. If he keeps playing like this and the rosters were made in February, I could seem him being one of the 3 goalies. Even as goalie #3 to get him experience in prep for the olympics where he could even backup Hellebyuck if he becomes what he is trending to become.
But with rosters being done in December, I think they’ll dismiss him as a rookie sensation for now and wait to see how he handles being a starter for a season.

Most difficult position to come into the NHL and excel as a rookie. If Wolf can win 25-30 games in 40 to 45 starts and be in the top 15 of save percentage and goals against he should easily win the Calder. The voting and recognition will come as near the halfway mark, what he’s doing is truly remarkable and even if he cools off a bit his numbers should be impressive. Given his age and how important his contributions will likely be to his teams success if he maintains anything close to this type of performance over the next 10-15 games.

.926, good for 2nd in the NHL.
Should he be on voters radars? Yeah, probably. But I guess this award has turned into more of a popularity contest of late.

Wolf should be the third goalie for Team USA this spring with how well he's playing. He deserves it, even though there's no chance he'll be picked.

If they want to win, they should start him
It likely won’t be this year, but before long somebody’s going to notice

The obsession with height in goalies the last decade has been insane. Wolf is 6 feet, not 5'4
|
There's a bug in the standard software that most NHL scouts use. It subtracts 6 feet from the height of every goalie.
At 6'0", Wolf officially does not exist. It's a miracle he was even scouted, let alone drafted.

Well.. now that the Wolf odds to win have gone way up.. Huska at +3000 to win the Jack Adams looks like the play. If they make the playoffs you'd have to expect him to be the favourite.
Also just saw Wolf is +10000 to win the Vezina

Any one of those annoying betting ads you see will offer you varying odds on stuff like Hart, Vezina, Calder, Cup, etc.
Buyer beware.

It's crazy how much depth the US has in goaltending, and how little depth Canada has. If Wolf was Canadian, he'd probably be at least backup if not challenging for starting goalie.

Lotsa hockey yet to play, but if the season ends today, I think he’d deserve consideration for the Calder, Vezina, AND Hart.
The question before the season was whether the Flames would be in a lottery position, and as American thanksgiving rolls around, they’re challenging for the division title. I’d argue that Wolf deserves a LOT of the credit for that.

Calder, Vezina and Hart sounds about right. Let's go with that.
