You may not think so, and I may not think so, but NHL GM's likely think differently.
Plus Barrie can run a PP, something Calgary lacks. Barrie may be here simply to get the PP going, and help pad the stats of other UFA's to be that could use some stat padding to increase trade value.
Teams are always looking at depth dmen at the trade deadline, especially ones who have a distinctive skill.
