Even if one believes a second chance is warranted in his case, it's pretty cringey that the second chance means going directly to General Manager of what is currently one of the leagues highest profile franchises. It's a bad look for the Oilers and the NHL in general. It's not really the news anyone should want in the news cycle, and I honestly don't think Bowman's abilities as a GM warrant the negative look.
A more appropriate second chance to me would have been to let a team hire him on in a lesser role and see if he can apply the lessons learned before just handing him the keys to another franchise. That is if you believe a second chance was deserved at all.

They jumped on Kane, Perry, and Bowman the moment they hit the market. They literally couldn't wait to hire avery single one of these people. Some people may say they are doing anything to win but I'm starting to get the feeling that the organization is going out of their way to hire bad people like Katz actually has some sort of twisted idea that he's building an Evil Empire equivalent to the Eskimos in the 80's. However the Eskimos were considered the Evil Empire for totally different reasons.

To me, the Beach "OK" means almost nothing. It's a function of his own healing process that he forgives and moves on. That's fine for him. But it's still an organization issue for the Oilers.
What other teams have knowingly hired someone with that kind of black mark? Contrast with the Flames and how they dealt with Peters.

And didn't he then give said employee a letter of recommendation that he used to get another job where he sexually assaulted someone again?

What would it take for them to actually backtrack on this?
There's a lot of angry chatter from Oilers fans, deservingly so.

McDavid should be the locker room leader to stand up and say something. Or anything from any of the players.

It's actually quite offensive that they even asked Beach for his ok.
He's the victim here and dealign with healing.
Leave him alone; don't make him relive this for your hockey team goals.
He's now being used as a PR tool for this organization to make a bad hire; they don't actually give a toss if he cares.

I watched the press conference and wow what a tool. One reporter asked Bowman “have you reached out to the 2nd victim at all?” To which he replied “I don’t want to focus on the past…” blah blah blah and dodged the question.

Despite what Jackson says, he 100% ran this hire by McDavid so he's already good with it.

Hopefully someone in the media will be brave enough to ask McDavid this question and put him on the spot.

How much has he really learned from his experiences if he doesn't want to talk about the past?

I'm surprised the Oilers haven't hired Vince McMahon.

There are certain things that I don't believe that there should be second chances given. Bowman acted in a reprehensible and completely evil manner. So F him, Screw him, no, he should be nowhere near the NHL, or hockey, or anyone under the age of 18.
F the Oilers.

Would certainly create the line "The Oilers, good enough to poop on" if they did.
