Vladar is making $2.2 million. Even at 50% retained, there are equally good goalies on the market for less, and you don't have to give up assets to acquire them.
As for the scouts, I haven't heard that anyone but the Flames likes him enough to want to trade for him.

There aren't many goalies better at 1.1.
EDIT:
Here's the list of pending UFA goalies. List me the ones who are better (and actually will be available) at less than 1.1

The eye test has shown he is a below average goalie in a lot of situations. He seems to do good on plays up close or where fast reflexes are needed but his positioning has been bad for 2 years now imo. The advanced stats have also shown that.
He is 91st of 93rd this year in goals saved above expected.
He was 95th of 107th last season for goals saved above expected.
For save % saved above expected he is dead last 74/74 for any goalie who has played at least 7 games.
I think he is skilled and has the tools but can't seem to put it together.
What should be the plan for next season goaltending wise?
Are we really going to trade Markstrom and go with Vladar starting probably at least half the games? He isn't even a capable backup right now.

You're assuming that the assets a team would trade for Vladar have no value.

No, I’m just questioning the assumption that someone can get a better goalie than Vladar to play for that price.

I was going by 1.1. I wouldn't necessarily take all of those goalies over Vladar either. Stolarz and Talbot are probably going to make more next season too so they'll be out of that range.

Considering that Vladar has been, by most measures, one of the worst goalies in the NHL, that is not a questionable assumption.
Heck, the L.A. Kings are making the playoffs with two goalies whose combined salaries are less than Vladar's. And they are both UFA this summer.

You're assuming that a goalie would have to have a lower salary than Vladar at 50% retained to be a better option than trading for Vladar. That means you are assigning no value at all to the assets traded to acquire him.

I think Vladar is better than those goalies at the same price, and therefore there’s value in getting him. I think he’s better with more games in a row, and i bet so do a few teams.

Then that's where you're in the minority. The numbers say he's been one of the worst goalies in the NHL, and most of us agree that the numbers aren't lying.

LOL. Remind me to recall that deference to a majority of posters in the future.
Majority being 2 or 3 people.

Against one, yes, that's a majority.
We have the numbers on our side. We also have the repeated reports that Conroy tried to trade Vladar but found no takers.
What have you got?

My opinion. And there are no reports that said “tried but got no takers” other than there wasn’t as much interest as with Markstrom. If you want to cite facts, please stick to the correct ones.
Your “majority argument” is just a bit ironic, given the source.
