I may have missed it but why do they keep showing this other random guy as MTL coach? Where is St.Louis?

Of course it was a real penalty. But the officials are supposed to save those up and give them to players who dare to play hockey against McDavid.

don't mind Millen poking a little at Kadri (but a little jarring when back to back with the obvious hold), still can you imagine a national broadcast doing that to McD? repeat showings, water versus ice gags etc?
