If the Flames are drafting 7th or close to, as Tankathon suggests, would people be up for trading down to the mid teens to draft Iginla if it also meant picking up a decent draft pick? I am guessing it would be like a mid 2nd rounder.

Nah. Most people wouldn’t consider it if the guys last name wasn’t Iginla. Take BPA as high as possible

I like the Dallas deal but feel most of these are unrealistic in our favor

I saw this and mixed up the words to read Lindholm requests trade poll.

Voted Boston because I'm obsessed with getting Frederic but that Colorado deal would be a close second...or any other trade listed above

This has gone as I expected, the Avs deal gets the most votes, there is some good debate back and forth about which package people would prefer, and the always negative crowd coming in every page to tell us all how Lindholm won't return anything near that much.

I generally shy away from the inconsistent ones, but Lambert has the pedigree - he is one high risk case that I would be happy to roll the dice on. I think he figures it out. And I think he has top line potential.

Breaking down each trade:
Boston:
2025 1st- Have to wait a full year for the pick which sucks. I want an oompa loompa now! Plus, it is very likely going to be a really low 1st based on recent history, but you never know.
Poitras - Decent young player, but hard to say what he is at this point. 5 goals and 15 points in 33 games is decent for a 19 year old, but not like oh my god wow. Good for 16th in rookie scoring and 14th in ppg for players playing 30 or more games.
Trent Frederic - Decent 3rd line center. 25 years old.
Colorado:
2024 1st - Projected at #28 OA.
Calum Ritchie - #27 OA from 2023 and lighting it up in junior. Potentially a 2nd line center in the NHL if he pans out, and the early returns look good.
Logan O'connor - Nice player, 3rd line forward. 27 years old.
Dallas:
2024 1st - Projected at #26 OA.
Mavrik Bourque - Former 30th OA in 2020. 22 years old and has not yet made an NHL debut, but scoring at a decent clip in the AHL.
Sam Steel - 3rd/4th line center, 25 years old. WJC stink.
Vancouver:
Nils Hoglander - Small but pretty competitive 3rd/4th line forward. Only 23, so there could still be room to grow. I wouldn't count on it though.
Kuzmenko - Enigmatic forward who could pan out, but no team control and a short contract.
2024 1st - Projected at #32 OA.
Vegas:
2024 2nd - Projected at #56 OA.
David Edstrom - 18 year old center in Sweden, drafted #32 OA. His stats don't look flashy, but that is pretty normal for young players in Europe. I wouldn't call him a blue chipper by any means though.
Brett Howden - 4th line center, 25 years old. WJC stink.
Winnipeg:
2024 1st - Projected at #30 OA.
Chaz Lucius - 20 year old center in the AHL, former #18 OA. I am not writing him off, but he hasn't done anything exciting yet either.
Mason Appleton - 28 year old 3rd liner.
The verdict:
The Colorado deal, IMO, has the potential to be really good and has the best chance to provide the Flames with a future star player. The Boston deal is interesting because you never know if Boston bombs next year and the pick ends up high. Having said that, I bet there would be lottery protection on it.
The rest of the proposed deals are a big pile of meh from me. But I mean, Lindholm's season hasn't been great and he'd be a pure rental, so maybe that's his value at this point.

take everything else out of the Dallas deal and just ask for Stankoven instead. He's the reason Bourque's scoring like that in the A.

I agree, I love Ritchie, but Poitras/First, AND Frederic? I think Frederic has always been severely underrated, but it’s nice to see he’s fulfilling his potential this season. Big guy who can skate, and tough as nails. Poitras will be a star.

I know the rumours are lindholm will be traded as a rental. I do however wonder if Boston might do a sign in trade? Charlie coyle is having a good season but I’m not convinced this will be his new norm at 30. Out of all teams listed on the poll Boston needs a centre not just as a rental but also going forward.

I could care less about Sam Steel, he’s a throw away. Bourque would be the flames best prospect.

The argument that Linholm's value is being adversely affected by his recent play is way overstated.
Every GM in the league remembers him burying pucks from the slot a couple seasons ago. What's changed? He hasn't been injured, or lost a step, or forgotten how to hockey. He's not "broken". He just doesn't have anyone like Gaudreau or Tkachuk to feed him pucks; or anyone like Rantanen or MacKinnon or Marchand or Pasternak or Pavelski or Ehlers, or Heiskanen or Makar.
Pretty sure most executives and coaches in this discussion feel they could get put him in a position to succeed.

He wouldn't be the first guy to leave Calgary and have instant success, especially short term

I'll never forgive him for not holding that puck against the boards instead of chucking it into the slot and getting the Flames eliminated from the playoffs.
That alone should necessitate a discount.

Lindholm is being traded as a rental because I doubt anyone wanting to pay him what he wants (9M?). They would want to see what he can do for them first.
I don’t think Conroy is having an easy time trading him.

Just because Lindholm was asking for $9M a year at the start of the season doesn't mean that is what he will ask for now. We don't know if he did that to purposefully make himself to expensive for this market, we don't know what adjustments his agent and him have made to his expectations, we have no idea if he will take a discount to stay with a contender. I highly doubt he is still expecting anywhere near the AAV he was first looking for at this point.

I don't think Conroy is trying to trade him right now.
