Maybe its just my perspective, but I kind of thought it was never supposed to work out.
I thought it was essentially a conditioning stint for Kane and the Red Wings were essentially paying cash to flip for assets at the Trade Deadline.

Yeah I watched most of tonights game and thought Kane was really good.
That Detroit G situation along with the injuries to the F's is really hurting them though.
I think they just had to sign Hutchinson to a 2 way deal just to have 2 guys at the position without wrecking a young guy.
Tough times for the Wings.

Too many teams making room for guys that don't belond, Kane is a good example. Hall of famer, but not a top 6 guy anymore other than PP.
