They own all three of those, but due to Stepien rules (can't commit FRPs from any 2 future drafts in a row) they can't trade 2027 (because 2026 is trade-committed) or 2029 (because 2030 is trade-commited). That leaves just 2028.

They could trade an additional asset to Memphis to change the protections on this year to fully unprotected, but even in doing so 2025 and 2029 are still blocked, so even then their only options for trading two are just the 2026 and 2028, and they would need to be fully unprotected. (The only option to having them fully unprotected would be having them immediately turn into 2nd-rounders if they don't convey that year, but they're really short on SRPs too, and would probably need to give up one to Memphis to change the protections, and Raptors won't value picks that have protections that expire immediately and turn into single SRPs).

With the Warriors still being outside the play-ins and being so reliant on a single player, they may balk at giving up a draft pick to remove protections this year... imagine they do that, Curry gets hurt, they end up getting a top-4-pick through lottery luck, but already removed protections and give that pick to Memphis (and spent a 2nd-rounder to do so), and then also gave up two additional unprotected FRPs that end up being high picks in a post-Curry era? That's very unlikely, but it's also the sort of worst-case scenario that teams try really hard to avoid.

They could give up swap-rights in those additional years (27 and 29), but those are really difficult to put a value on, so are unlikely to count for much in a Siakam trade either.

Raptors win! Solid start with the new guys. The lineup looks more balanced with the new additions.

SGA and Embiid having such strong years. The MVP comes down to those 2 probably.

Poeltl has looked so much more comfortable these last two games

Amazing how much better it looks when Schroder and GTJ are coming off the bench

If the Raptors can't get the return they want for Siakam, just extend him

Yeah, with Siskam, I’m sure even if they extend him, which he’s willing to do, his value will still be what it is. He’s a guy I find hard to get behind considering he’s inconsistently shown really good capabilities. On a championship team he’s the perfect third option, and maybe a second option if you have a great first option. But he can’t carry a team and that’s why I think if the Raps packaged him for a better offer than the one for OG, they have a good future ahead.

Good. I'm assuming Murray is the sticking point. If he isn't a part of the Kings' package, there really isn't anything else I would want

That whole Shams proclamation, followed a few hours later by the float saying the Kings have dropped out seems peculiar. Given they played eachother tonight, and knowing Masai likes to keep things quiet probably tells me something went awry after it leaked. Sabonis would look damn good as a Rap too. Anyway, Barratt I'm not sure is a starter going forward, and you have Siakam's replacement to fill. Grady D isn't looking too promising so I'm not sure he has a bright future here, but I wondering if a lesser sweetener can be added with Siakam, to get two good players from a deep team looking Siakam's talents?

RJ with 37 points on only 20 FG attempts. Very impressive game for him. We’ve looked great since the trade, with the only loss coming against Sacramento who were on fire from 3 all game.

Hopefully we can keep shooting the ball well like this.

I think they've got a top 6 now who can think the game fast enough for Darko's preferred 0.5s offense, and the next two guys up, Boucher and GTJ, don't really need the same quick processing lot for their roles out there. Jontay Porter has been a nice surprise too.

They'll still have a fairly tough schedule between now and the deadline, so lots of time to evaluate what this group is capable of, but likely a lot of the direction here will be based on what the behind-the-scenes relationship between Siakam and the front office is.

I'm sure all the talking heads at ESPN and ABC will back the Lakers and say Darko is crying... but anyone who actually watched the game tonight knows the true story. Like Rajakovic said, why even show up if the league already has a mandated winner? They desperately want the Lakers (and Warriors) in the playoffs, and will do whatever it takes to ensure that happens.

Sounds like Pacers and Raps in deep discussions about Siakam.

Bruce Brown Jr and 3 1sts would be the return.

I really don't know much about Brown, but 3 1sts from a pretender sounds like a win to me. One of those have a high chance of being high.

Even though it’s the right thing to do, I will be sad to see Siakam go. He’s an easy guy to cheer for, and it was fun to watch his development over the years.
