Even in the books of the Disney EU, this was a huge problem. Even before the guns had cooled off from the Galactic Civil War, Mon Mothma was stupidly demilitarizing the Republic Military and offering blanket immunity to former Imperial Officers. She was literally the George Bush Jr of the Star Wars Galaxy with the big banner behind her "Mission Accomplished"
She might have won the war, but she quickly lost the peace.
In the Lengends EU she was much more pragmatic and jaded as the Leader of the New Republic, and in a interesting shift was accused of trying to become the New Palpatine as she tried to basically eradicate the former Empire.
In this case it has nothing to do with the Force, and nothing to do with politics. We see that yes the Empire was shattered with the Death of Palpatine and Vader. But the Empire was left with some pretty competent officers, and a nearly complete Imperial Intelligence network, who could have formulated this infiltration plan pretty easily.
Its also almost a historical truth that when a armed rebel group over throws a government they're awful at governing. We saw this in the Mandalorian where slavery came back in a big way in the outer rim, criminals took over entire planets, and the Republic was too busy filling in TPS reports.
I sort of dig how Andor is Mon's journey into buying more and more in Luthen's perspective and once that task is done she falls back into what she knew before.

Yeah...what the hell?
Mon Mothma sucks now?
The fall of the Jedi just showed you that you're being led around by the nose like cattle and you're still falling for this crap?
Jar Jar Binks destroyed the Galaxy.
Maybe your craptastic Republic wasnt as 'hot awesome' as you thought it was?
"The people should choose!"
Oh yeah?
I direct you to the naming contest for what is now the Colorado Avalanche as well as the appointment of John Scott in the All-Star game.
Oh...and when they held a naming contest for the student store at the U of C and something horrific won and they scrapped the whole thing and just named it 'The Stör.'
If you want the dumbest decision ever....let the 'people' choose.

I mean if you can't endure ten minutes of necessary character development and plot set up then you must have a low threshold for what will hold your attention.
.
Ah yes...the complex character development of not being able to hit the ships with the rear guns...and then 10 minutes later getting the hang of it.

I had to pirate this episode lol, the Disney+ app now says it's not compatible with my TV so I can't install it after uninstalling it.. I don't want to watch on my PC because I can only watch on 720p there...
Anyway enjoyed that episode. Ahsoka and Sabine building a little trust, get our heroes closer to the ring, get some action.
Not sure if Dawson's Ahsoka is the directing or her interpretation of an older version of the character, but I kinda agree she's missing the kind of intensity and passion that my avatar shows (even when crossing arms!).

Or when she was fighting Maul and she totally snarked him. "Its a good thing Anakin didn't come. With the way you're fighting you wouldn't have lasted long"
Or the emotional Ashoka who despite Jedi teaching was incredibly attached and grateful for her friends.

To be fair, I thought that scene hinted to as why the previous Master/Apprentice relationship failed between Ahsoka and Sabine.
Ahsoka expected Sabine to anticipate her flying and the enemy flying like a traditional Jedi. For someone like Ahoska who has an easier connection to the Force, things like Sabine's presets where unnecessary. Sabine failed with these expectations.
But only when Ahsoka adapted to what Sabine wanted to do, did they actually make progress in shooting down the enemy fighters and perhaps foreshadowing how Ahsoka might successfully train Sabine this time around.

We don't know how Force Sensitive Sabine is, or if we're going on some journey to open her up to it.
I mean, I'm not a huge fan of Sabine as a Jedi, or giving her a cheat code. I liked her as the impulsive creative Mandalorian.
I still remember when Kanaan tried to train her in using the Dark saber.
Forgot the best part

Maybe they find out that EVERYONE can develop some useful level of force sensitivity. Not enough to become traditional Jedi, but enough that it's worth training everyone. As a shakeup to the Star Wars universe.
Probably unlikely seems like something Jedi/Sith would have known loooong ago.

I do agree that I noticed Ahsoka as so calm/cold in this episode. I didn't really get that in the first two but I might have just been so blinded by the awesomeness of all the Rebels nods.
She is calculated, but she also shoots from her hip. She needs to show more of those Han Solo style traits, which we got some shades of in the dog fight sequence. I was really hoping she had a comment for Sabine when she said she got one.. lol. It didn't have to be EXACTLY the same, but there was room for an Ahsoka quip there and a great nod to the OT. I wasn't sure if she was just trying to keep it all together in front of Sabine or what.
The real hidden gem in this show for me has been Hera. I didn't like the casting/look of her at first, but she has been amazing in that role.

Its kinda funny with the evolution of Force sensitivity in Star Wars.
At first, it was everyone has some ability in the Force
Then Palpatine was walking around in Dark Empire creating Dark Jedi by infusing them with the power of the Force.
Then in the Jedi Academy two book series, it was a deformation in the brain, a nub or a tumor).
Then in the prequels it was Midichorians (Question, lets say someone gets a infection and the doctor gives him antibiotics, would that kill his force sensitivity?)
Now it feels like its back to everyone has a level of force sensitivity.

Question and a spoiler for those that haven't watched the latest episode yet:
Spoiler!
When Ahsoka goes outside her ship to fight the baddies, and after her chop the wing off move she's floating in space and asks Sabine to get her. Why didn't she just "Leia" that and use the force to move back towards the ship?

That took a long time and a lot of concentration. They were in the middle of a dog fight and didn't have time to spare.

And like some Jedi are going to be more inclined at stronger abilities too. Like Cal Kestic and Quinlin Vos have that strong memory touch thing.
and I don't disagree that Ahoska looks better in animation than live action. Although I do think the lekku head piece looks better now than when she first showed up in Mando

Don't get me wrong. I'm still watching the show and enjoy it, I just don't see why these scenes have to be so long. I get the idea that Sabine is struggling to access her force powers....they've stated that over and over. It seems like they've just devoted an extreme amount of time to Sabine finding her way and they're relying too much on nostalgia and recycling scenes from previous movies.'
It, overall, feels like they don't have much story to tell before that hyperdrive loop gets activated and Thrawn comes back, so they are drawing out these plot points with Sabine regaining her footing and the empire/Sith working behind the scenes.
Part of the issue is that I find the actor playing Sabine to be downright awful. So giving her all this "character development" screen time is dragging the show down. She's so bad that they have to resort to gimmicks like giving her a new haircut to signify change. They need the droid to constantly explain what is going on with her.

I've decanonized the sequels in my mind so I draw nothing from those three movies as a reference for what is/isn't possible for force users.
Johnson definitely didn't understand the force as it was established in lore anyway. He wanted to take Star Wars in another direction and do his own thing.

Why do they selectively ignore physics for space travel and battles?
