Absolute theft to get the point. Brentford missed 3 sitters at least, but I guess at least we had a lot of empty possession that we did nothing with to make the "we want good football" whiners happy.
This is going to be a long season for Spurs

Maybe when planning his future, he also took into consideration what would be good for the Club he loved?

Extremely disappointed Liverpool allowed Chelsea to control most of that game after they came out flying.
Chelsea looks much better thus far.

I believe in the Jays.

Liverpool are just desperate for a defensive mid, and a left sided centre back to play where Robertson is. I think this could be a pretty good team if those two spots get sorted.

Chelsea today put in a great shift. More passion and fluidity in that game than the entirety of last season. If they add Caicedo then that will be a special midfield. Enzo looked fantastic today MOTM.

Crazy how a quick billion pounds can transform a squad.

Lol, well they also had an absolute gift of a penalty. The second half was dominant from Spurs as well. Considering the past few days for the club, I'd say it's a pretty good performance.

Dominant in possession but they did nothing with it, Brentford had by far the best chance, the horrible missed open net, chance in that half.
It was the kind of performance we saw at the end of Poch where we dominated possession but created zero chances.
The gift of a penalty was a penalty all day long. Created because we needed our forward to come back to defend because of defenders and midfielders can't handle it.
Edit: I do agree with where we are a draw against a fellow midtable team is a good result for us.

It was a gift of a penalty because there's no way that's getting called all year long everytime it happens. Yeah, there was "contact", but it's incidental and in a contact sport. It's completely ridiculous, and when you have to spend that long rewinding and rewatching it to come to that decision it tells you all you need to know about the sheer incompetence of the officlals in the English game.
Maybe I'm easily impressed. But I was pleased to see an entirely new system implemented pretty well, and a pressing and attacking style again. Of course there are issues. It's the first game of the season and we just sold our best player yesterday. But Brentford is tough at home. They slow things down and try to counter, which makes life harder for a team like Tottenham.

No you didnt. You sold your top goal scorer, but I've always maintained that Son has long been your best player.

Overall though, much more exciting than the previous three managers and sitting back!

I'm not really a fan of Kane, but I remember one game a year or two back where he played a deep lying/false 9 role vs man city, and he controlled the game completely. He might be underrated as a play maker.

I love Son and hate undeserved hate he is now getting from our fanbase but Kane always the better player. No slight on Son and it was close but no doubt Kane was the best.

add 115m for Caicedo to the list. All of that just to finish 6th in the end

they changed the amortisation rules. UEFA felt Chelsea rigged the system (and yeah, they obviously did) by spreading the cost over 8 years or so, so they set a 5 year limit for amortisation. You can still sign them to longer contracts, you just can't spread the cost over a longer period anymore.
