It was worse than dissing. His church in Vancouver was vandalized during the finals. He was really shaken up about it.

Didn't seem like it last month when he said it was every players team to play in front on hometown crowd.

Well, he does.

On Monday, Milan Lucic faced the media about the altercation he was in outside a Vancouver nightclub on Saturday, December 14. Lucic said he was punched by someone inside the club and again outside while he was trying to get food.

“There was no reason for him to punch me,” Lucic told Comcast Sportsnet. “From this point forward, we’re exploring this in a legal matter. That’s as much as I can say about it right now.”

Because of the situation, Lucic went on to say he has no reason to defend his hometown of Vancouver and the people here anymore.

“That’s one of the worst parts… that it’s in my hometown,” Lucic said. “Going back to the spray painting of the church and my grandparents, parents and family getting harassed during the Stanley Cup Finals in 2011, and now it’s escalated to the point where I get attacked for minding my own business.”

“I have no reason left to try and defend my city, and the people of my city. I’m done trying to defend the city I’m from. I’m disgusted and outraged that it had to come to that. Other than being at Rogers Arena, no one will ever see me in downtown Vancouver ever again.”

I’m going to go with what he said last month vs 10 years ago.
https://nhlrumors.com/nhl-rumors-mil...ks/2023/06/09/

"To me, a lot of that will go into my decision as a UFA. First off, I have to see what my options are and go from there.

Obviously, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. It’s always a dream for a hometown boy to play for his hometown team. So, would definitely listen to what they have to say if they came calling.”

But whatever fits your narrative #♂️

LOL - low level UFA who wants to play says he will listen to offers and makes half assed comment about hometown teams. Then doesn't sign with them.

Why is that funny?

He was a UFA keeping his options open

LOL - thinking a ten year old comment still rings true

Dude - they vandalized his church and punched him. and he's made comments since then as well. It's not a "narrative" - it's what he said.

So now he said some puffy things in an interview, and then signed with the Bruins. Hooray.

It's LOL that it really meant much. Of course he's not shutting doors. But the proof is in what he did. I doubt he's forgiven people. He has had good things to say about everywhere, except Vancouver. And he changed the subject right quick this time.

So somethings he said 10 years ago you take as absolute fact and there is no way he could soften his stance, and what he said last month you discard because it’s just lip service in your opinion and he didn’t sign with them.
I’m guessing if they offered a contract he would have gone.
If you’re only listening to certain comments from the same person and judging your opinion off only the comments you select, that is you creating a narrative.

Most people would look at his comments and know he was quite upset with the fans 10 years ago, but obviously things have changed in 10 YEARS as they will with most peoples opinions.

Maybe he had time to recognize the actions of a couple people don't represent the entire city?

I don't think Lucic gives a rat's *** if the fans dissed him while he was with Boston. He doesn't like Canuck fans because they gave his family members a very rough time when they played in the finals.

Maybe people didn't actually watch the clip in that Tweet, because Looch never said anything bad about the Flames and certainly didn't come across as being "an Oilers fan the entire time". Weird.
