It's a shame that people like this still exist in 2023. What a bunch of pathetic, bigoted losers.

If that was Friday, there was some weird Larry Heather-looking guy handing out pamphlets on Centre St near the train station at around 4pm. Didn’t take one, but in retrospect figured it was that or those guys who think the moon is a spaceship.

The Breakdown @TheBreakdownAB

Some people - “Take Back Alberta” wasn’t involved in the bigoted protest yesterday!”

Actual leader of TBA - “Imma just do a keynote/recruitment drive, also we need to take over library boards and all the things!”

The costs of mainstream political apathy have always been pretty high. Looks like they’re about about to get a lot higher.

A Christian conservative group rallying support for New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs now has enough signatures to be a decisive factor in any leadership review vote.

It and another organization rallying support for the embattled Progressive Conservative leader have flexed their muscles in the last month, gathering enough names to swing the vote in his favour.

"A lot of times it's hundreds or even dozens of people that can make a difference in some of these elections," said Faytene Grasseschi, who runs the group 4 My Canada from Quispamsis, outside Saint John.
Quote:
McDonald said in an interview she believes Grasseschi and others are using the issue of LGBTQ rights in schools as "a new hub to get Christians, evangelical Christians, the religious right, involved in politics again, as a new rallying cry.

"They haven't had a rallying issue since same-sex marriage that brought people out to the polls."
Quote:
McDonald said Grasseschi is part of a movement called the New Aposotolic Reformation that aims to put believers in government leadership positions so Canada can be "restored to be a Christian nation in time for the second coming of Christ," she said.

As a born and raised New Brunswicker, I say by all means saw them off from the rest of Canada. Nothing of value would be lost.

I have a friend who lives in a mid-sized Alberta city who is eminently qualified to sit on either a school board or a library board, but won't out of fear. They are indeed targets.

The Breakdown @TheBreakdown

From the DM’s…

(And from the TBA telegram group we’re told)

Looks like David Parker is going full Romana Didulo with theories on money and the banking system…

Looks like all he needs is an oversized RV and some sardines.

The vast majority of children who experience trans body dysmorphia grow out of it, about 75%-80%. Kids are very impressionable during this time and selling them a lie that they can live a fulfilling life as the opposite gender is one of the most evil, twisted lies you could tell a kid. All you are setting them up for is a lifetime of pharmaceutical dependency, extremely high suicide rate and a whole host of mental health problems. If you think sacrificing four children to maybe save one is a good trade, you're ####ed in the head.

European countries are by and far moving away from promoting gender affirming care for children, as they are discovering it is doing more harm than good and certainly shouldn't be something a government funds for its citizens. The only places in the world where there is a positive fervor for this sort of thing is the US and Canada.

That Jazz kid is already expressing regret for their decision to have had an experimental child sex change operation, I mean gender affirming care.

Link studies and articles please. So people can review these sources. Or don’t quote figures.

Anyone interested in learning about the current state of transgendered care should take the time to read Reuters’ series on the subject. You’ll come away with a better understanding of the issue, in all its complexity and nuance, than relying on the culture wars factoids flung around on social media.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates...in-transition/

You’ll find data, personal testimonies, and interviews with the leading experts in the field. It’s traditional long-form journalism of the sort that has become all too rare.

This statistic is commonly spread but not understood. It was not meant to imply that an individual has an 80% chance to 'grow out of it', it was meant to imply that the clinical criteria needed more research and to be updated.

Had I been in that study, I likely would have been classified as a desister. Misinformed people like yourself would add myself to the statistic pile of people at risk of irreversible care that I would later regret. Only, I never felt that I should have been the opposite gender. I never felt uncomfortable with the genitalia assigned to me at birth. I just liked to play with dolls and hated getting toy cars.

Yet, by the old measure that study was using, I could have passed the criteria at a young age to have GD.
