Wonder if the Kraken could sub in for Will Borgen? Granted, the goal scored certainly wasn't Borgen's fault and the chances against with him on the ice weren't totally either, but he's really struggling the most of all the Kraken players both pace & skill wise.

Mind you, Cale Fleury or Jaycob Megna are likely no better but it's a thought.

Watching this game just further cemented in my mind just how far the Flames are from being a team that can legitimately compete in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Surprisingly the Kraken have been able to keep up with the Avalanche speed because they have a bunch of speed themselves. Both teams are just super quick in transition, on the forecheck, on the back check, makes for some entertaining hockey.

Just fantastic hockey. Every moment means something, it's exhilarating to watch.

Not sure Borgen is the biggest problem. The players who put up the most points are invisible right now.

Compher shorthanded goal. Beautiful pass by Makar to set that up.

MacKinnon with an even strength goal to put the Avs up 2-1.

Yes McDavid, you are allowed to get even strength points.

Hey Woodpecker, the best player in the world doesn't play for the Oilers.

Jesus Christ.

I think Makar blew a hole in the space/time continuum with that shot. Unreal.

The Kraken have been putting up a good fight this series. But the Avs have those gamebreakers that can take over at any time

This is the best opening round of playoffs in the last few years, imo. Just excellent hockey, but the sad thing is seeing the game breakers, the speed, the systems and knowing that the Flames are like two elite game breakers away from being a contender.

I still have Colorado going to the finals because of a fairly weak West, but how they could go into the season with Georgiev, is a mystery.
