It looks like the Rangers are going up Schmid's Creek.

Gallant gets fired into his 3rd season at every stop. If they lose this series one wonders if he even makes it to his 3rd season as it would be a bit of a disaster for the Rangers given their deadline activity.

It's pretty amazing to see the Rangers fall apart. On paper they should be one of the favorites to win it all after adding Tarasenko and Kane. I wonder if it's another case of adding too many new pieces and messing up the chemistry?

The feeling seemed to be that the Devils were too young and inexperienced, but its feeling more like jitters and finding their legs. Now they have that confidence. I can see them beating the Canes next round too (assuming they win, I think they will) and off to the ECF.

If you look at guys on the Rangers like Panarin and Zib who haven't scored a goal in the playoffs, Kane has one goal etc. I think it's the case that they have several guys underperforming heavily. Not that the Devils are some world beaters.

I told my son last night that Shesterkin could have legitimately been the first star in that game. New Jersey just steamrolled them. The high danger chances going into Game 5 were 57-43 NJ. I suspect that gap widened significantly

I havent watched a lot of this series but what i did see was a Ranger team that struggles with the pace of play on the Devils. Right now they do everything quickly even if they arent considerably faster overall.

Been fascinating to see how it started and then just flipped.

Lol @ the Flames not even giving Dustin Wolf a chance this season to save their season in the home stretch.

NJ made a tough decision when they came across some adversity. Now its paying off. Good for them.

Happy to see the Devils on the verge of advancing.

Crazy to think the Rangers are losing the goalie battle when Shesterkin has a .938 and 1.75 GAA…

Finishing the season 9th overall and losing to the team 3rd overall probably wouldn't be worth a firing, but tonight will be interesting. He's made literally zero adjustments the whole series. Same lines, etc. If that happens again tonight and they end up losing, you really wonder.

But also, the series isn't over yet. Last year, they were down 3-1 in the first round and came back. Then they were down 3-2 in the second round and came back again. Their goaltending has been good. All they need is to get their power play going.

On the flip side Lindy gets some heat but when he has a talented roster he let's them showcase the talent and play a offensive brand of hockey. Look at his post lockout Buffalo teams before they got raided.

Yeah, the Devils are fast, AND they play fast.

The latter is more important, and effective, IMO, but when you have both, then you've got something.

The Rangers are just bad. If Erik Haula is the leading scorer for NJ you aren't doing a very good job.
