It’s just…what they are. They’ve steadily been exactly this team all season long.

It’s a shame because there absolutely have been some bright spots…but they’re totally being consumed by the darkness of this season.

If this team loses this game tonight then put Lucic back in and tank the rest of the season. Just too painful to watch them screw up their draft position. If we are going to suck can we at least do that right? Instead they’ll screw around just enough to miss by one point and have the worst draft position of all the non playoff teams. And round and round we go!!

This is the flames brand this year. Give up early high danger chances and can’t recover from being too scared to make a mistake. The Coleman turnover the Anderson turnover the refs turning it over.

What have we done to warrant such bad launch and a horribly inconsistent team? Dallas looks like aces compared to us. They are coming out pumped since the last time they were here it was game 7.

Sighhhhh

This Flames team is so mentally fragile, just as they have been for much of the past 30 years.

As soon as they feel like their season is over and they're too far back to make up the ground... they start playing like world beaters.

As soon as they start to close in on a playoff spot... they feel the pressure and go completely to crap.

Rinse and repeat.

Don't worry, once they're mathematically eliminated, they'll go on a heater.

No one to settle them down. No one to inspire them. No one to put the fragile bastards on their back.

Flames are competing for the "punching yourself in the d**k" title this year.

It's the only thing that makes sense to me.

Side bar: as teenagers, i was at a house party at a friend's house and someone used white wine to get red wine off the carpet. I convinced a guy that clamato juice got coke stains out. It only made things worse and he got in so much trouble. It was around 30 years ago and we still joke about it.

I’d say about 2%. If I had any brains I’d go to bed and get a good nights sleep.

I was super annoyed because Sportsnet West had the Flames game scheduled, so I set up a recording to catch up after getting my daughter into bed, but it was WBC instead.
Tunning in after the first, it doesn't look like I missed much.

I really don't like this narrative from commentators that the Flames would be "A tough out" if they snuck into the playoffs. What has this team shown this season that indicates they'll be a dangerous playoff team?
