Ah, but can he shoot the puck and murder someone with it? I think NOT!

I’ve been banging that drum all season. He was sat once this year and he came back really well. Maybe he complained about it.

I actually wondered at some point how he’d play if he was strictly a home or away player. Gets to live only at home, or lives in, say, Boston and only joins Calgary for road trips.

No one is letting him off the hook, especially for not scoring PPG. But in the game thread when people are complaining about him losing a puck battle to 3 players it gets a little silly.

No players are finding a lot of space right now. Not Lindholm, not Mangiapane, not even Toffoli.

Did Francis really just call Lucic and Lewis muckers? I know they’re not the best but I didn’t think you needed to call them that.

Ineffective with no time or space? Well, that’s every hockey player. It was the complaint with Gaudreau. He’s not a burner, so he’s not outskating anyone. But I seem him in good open spots all the time and his linemates (Kadri) don’t get the puck to him.

The play on his line should be centre gaining the zone, passing to him and looking for an open spot because he will find them, almost guaranteed. We’ve seen his passing.
We just see it differently. Gaudreau was incredible at creating his own time and space, definitely not what I ever complained about him.

I can’t blame Kadri for Huberdeau’s horrible pass in that period. And you can’t expect the center to be the one always gaining the zone. IMO Huberdeau doesn’t do nearly enough with the game that is presented to him.

Yes, I don’t think he’s been all in for most of the year, but Sutter could not have made a worse choice than Kadri to centre his line, and then continue to stick with it for 60+ games when it was clear that it wasn’t working.

Didn’t realize he was older. I suppose I should rephrase that pretty much every player brought up from the Wranglers has been better than fill ins and regulars.

Doesn’t seem like a meritocracy at all and there’s a ton of favouritism (too much I’d say) that leads to some lazy outings for guys taking it for granted. Mangiapane for example looks like a guy who got laid and doesn’t give a #### anymore.

Always thought that part of his game is overrated he shoots any chance he gets doesn't matter what where or who it hits

Gaudreau was last year (so was Huberdeau). But the complaint the two previous years was he wilted under pressure at the blue line, and had gotten predictable. Go back and look some time.
